I worked at Spring Independent School District full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Some good kids, nice schedule

    Cons

Principals have no control of the school. The students run it and they know it. They would institute new rules at the beginning of the year, kids didn't follow them, so they would eliminate them mid-year, making the kids think it's a joke. The discipline there is unruly. There are fights every week of the year, and multiple fights every day around any holiday. For all the good kids, they were unable to learn because there was so many discipline issues that principals didn't deal with. It is a violent, and unruly place to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop trying to "catch" your teachers doing poorly. You should be empowering them, and following through on discipline, especially with the worst offenders.

    Pros

The majority of your coworkers are hardworking, depending on the school-a team environment, some of the specialist really do try to help the students instead of sitting in their office.

    Cons

It depends on who you know in order to move out of the classroom, discipline is a joke at most of the schools.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your management before placing them.

I worked at Spring Independent School District

    Pros

There are a lot of good professional development opportunities that Sprind ISD offers. All of the staff that I worked with were very friendly and supportive.

    Cons

People are two faced. They are nice to your face, but turn around and talk about you behind your back. The administration tells you one thing, but doesn't follow through. They are not loyal to their current employees.
