I worked at Sprint full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Worked there 13 years. Looking back it was a company that allowed good work life balance as long as you got your work done. I liked the effort company gave to being better. Bottom shelf products and data being promoted as the opposite seems to be recent undoing.

    Cons

Data network, coverage and suite of mobile devices. Felt like we were always offering last run movies when everyone else was offering new releases and most popular. Always an uphill battle. Company seemed more interested rolling out new procedures and policies than providing top of the line solutions and removing red-tape.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less reports. More empowering of employees.

I have been working at Sprint full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Benefits
    Co-Workers
    Work/Life Balance
There really are no more except a check.

    Cons

The network revamp (AKA Network Vision) is a disaster. The data network is a joke (300kbps download speeds ? Really?????) No LTE or very minimal and even when connected to LTE speeds are mediocre at best

Management is blaming the wrong people. How about the management people who put the network in the position it is in? Can anyone say WIMAX (another cluster).

Customers are fleeing by the hundreds of thousands and there is nothing we can do about it yet our pay is affected. How is that fair?

Customers do not want to talk to us as all the IT managers talk and they all know what a train wreck our network is yet management insists we try and push our service on businesses which is unethical as we know of all the problems. Dropped calls, dropped data connections, slow data connections, Direct Connect does not work as advertised.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a grip on reality ! It's not your sales people, its the network! Network Vision is the problem, not your sales people!

I have been working at Sprint full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Free Phone and Discounted service for friends and Family.
Full Benefits, (Med, Dental, eyes, 401K 4% match, Stock options)
Opportunity to move up to a point. Like any company. If you work hard and learn what needs to be done. You'll move to middle management quite quickly.
    Decent pay.
    Vacation Time.
    Multiple Avenues to explore.

    Cons

Very Poor work/life balance (Assistant Manager and above)
High Quotas. No room for error
Promotion beyond middle is very slow.
Upper Management has poor listening skills beyond current focus points.
Very often days are filled with Fire Drills.
Employees cannot shop in store and must get everything online.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have nothing as the company is shifting into the merger with Softbank. We will see what happens.

    Pros

They are always looking to bring new customers in with promotions that offer significant savings for new customers.

    Cons

Moving up in the company takes forever. Advancements in positions are really tough to get depending on the district that you work for. I was hired as a lead sales consultant and after 2 years of consistently hitting all numbers I still haven't received a raised or a promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward those employees that work hard and hit all there metrics..
