Pros
great training program, good benefits, fast pace and lots of change
Cons
lack of upward mobility after being in store management
Advice to Senior Management
inspect what you expect from your upper management
Pros
Great Benefits; Friendly co-workers; Nice facility
Cons
Total disconnect between what the job is and what it is purported to be by the hiring HR associates & the Training team.
Advice to Senior Management
Empower the Retention Specialists to actually make real offers to retain loyal customers. Stop playing games; don't try to appease only callers who are likely to receive a "customer satisfaction" quality call.
Pros
great benefits and ability to communicate and help a vast variety of customers. friendly and outgoing coworkers
Cons
the company does not spend the resources on training and development; consequently, management lacks various skills and abilities necessary to grow staff
Advice to Senior Management
staff turn over must be brought under control and therefore the resources needed to develop management and leadership staff must be invested
Pros
The health benefits are some of the best that I've ever had. Between medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts Sprint does a great job.
Cons
In my position there were certain things that I could not control-like a cell phone outage or an error in the billing system. The best you can do is attempt to calm down the customers and assure them that those issues are being taken care of.
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure that metrics don't conflict with each other so that good employees aren't penalized for excelling in a metric that requires sacrificing another metric.
Pros
Work from Home, Nice People
Cons
No long term career advancement
Advice to Senior Management
define and share a better short term and long term strategy
Pros
the day goes by fast, decent benefits, if you don't like sitting at a desk all day you might enjoy selling phones, there is never a dull moment
Cons
the pay stinks! they don't give raises, they start you at an hourly rate and that's it. They just cut pay by a dollar an hour for techs, thinking they will make it up on commission, but in Texas your commission is taxed at 30%, the stores and customer care on the phone are NOT on the same page, it's like we are on two separate teams competing against each other
Advice to Senior Management
pay better and make the entire company cohesive
Pros
Good solid company now that most of the layoffs and outsourcing of certain network functions appear to be done. Growth potential as a wireless provider I believe is most optimistic out of all the wireless companies in the U.S.
Cons
Mid level management runs their divisions like mini empires, and have been there for 15-20 years. Minimal innovation and they do not listen to their engineers on how to run their operations (even when these same engineers have similar experience in networking arena).
With all the layoffs and outsourcing of last few years, minimal pay raises, there has been few promotion opportunities. Sprint is likely to lose a lot of its best talent as soon as the economy recovers and more job opportunities arise.
Advice to Senior Management
Follow you lean sixth sigma philosophy. LISTEN and IMPLEMENT what the personnel doing the jobs on a daily basis tell you what is wrong with processes and procedures. The company needs a mid level management enema. Move them around, get younger more innovative managers!
Pros
Good health benefits
Great employees
Promotional opportunities
The Sprint Campus is amazing
Onsite health club on campus
High pay compared to most KC companies
Cons
Long, long hours
Office politics
People promoted beyond their ability simply because of years of service
Still a "good ole boys" club
A lot of favoritism
Too much focus on cost cutting
Advice to Senior Management
Promote people based on skills and worth ethic, not on who they know
Stop the commercials with Dan Hesse; most people don't care about the CEO
Pros
Hometown Fortune Business. Beautiful campus. Campus amenities. On site doctors office, pharmacy, walgreens, multiple dining options, coffee shops, gym and locker rooms.
Cons
Fear of down sizing, too many senior executives, no budget, too many big debts, low merit increases (if any) for advancements or annual reviews.
Advice to Senior Management
Too many senior executives within Care organization create a poor customer and rep experience, driving extra operating cost with redundant positions and conflicting priorities.
Pros
Good communication, great benefits, clear career pathing, relatively easy movement from one department to another, professionalism in senior management.
Cons
uncertainty about company's existence, not a market leader, competitive disadvantages.
Advice to Senior Management
The company has overlooked how many subscribers are not attainable because of the weak coverage in rural areas that other providers cover.
