Pros
Free Cell service is pretty much it.
Cons
Turnover is extremely high and nothing is really inspiring about the position.
Pros
- Benefits
- Some good people
- Nice campus
Cons
- Limited growth opportunities
- Risk averse management
Advice to Senior Management
- It would be good to take some calculated risks
- Wireless is a rapid and ever changing dynamic world, and you need to be nimble to compete
Pros
The Job starts out good by giving you 2 months of full commission
Benefits can be great
Pay is ok for retail
Cons
Commission goals change monthly and are at times unrealistic
Favoritism
Commission structure constantly changing
You will have to burn a lot of customer bridges to hit goals at times
Best Buy, radioshack, etc have better prices on phones, so prepare to lose 75% of your customers because you cannot price match, and you cannot issue courtesy credits.
Premier Silver accessory discounts are gone, and you have to sell at least one table pc a month to hit your accessory goals (they have a ridiculously high return rate), so good luck.
Yup, you get rated on your returns/exchanges.....so be prepared to get semi-heart attacks every time you see your customer come back into the store.
You get rated on customer satisfaction surveys, were the only passing score is all 5/5's...yup seriously.
be prepared to spend over half of your day dealing with angry customers with phone problems, and no intention to buy anything
Be prepared to be micro-managed, and at times berated if you have problems with your goals.
Your goals still go on even on vacation, so be prepared to not take any vacations ever.
This is to name a few
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to employees and actually look at your competition. You are getting slaughtered by best buy, and how can you expect to sell anything when your neighbors are selling the same thing cheaper? Quit blaming your employees for all of your problems and incompetencies.
Pros
excellent benefits, medical, dental and vision package is great. Phone discounts very generous, lots of vacation time. The only reason I stayed with the company as long as I did was for the benefits.
Cons
Management has no training, and treats employees like crap. Upper management has no problem with verbally attacking employees. Some of the managers are nothing more than chair warmers.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees with respect and learn to be a sales person yourself. I can't see how you can know your employees when you sit in the back office and play on the computer all day.
Pros
Dan Hesse is great and is doing a good job
Cons
Former Nextel managers are ruthless
Advice to Senior Management
Get back to old Sprint culture
Pros
You had the flexibility to do your job in the field. You could earn decent comminsions on certain products offered.
Cons
The rules change without notice. Commissionable products were scaled back after employees started really selling those products. Promotion are tough to come by unless you are in the in-crowd
Pros
The benefits that sprint gives its employees is quite good. However, being in retail you must deal with customers who want everything for free.
Cons
Management does not appreciate their workers. Haven't received a raise in over 4 years. Being that Sprint is financially stuck they do not invest in what truly matters.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop spending money on bad investments like clear wire and especially NASCAR. When your employees are not happy to be at work and thus treat customers with the same distasteful manner
Pros
Good pay for "retail" job. Company moving in right direction. Good benefits.
Cons
While pay is decent, other carriers pay much better. Seniority means nothing, only what have you done for me lately. Bad communication between higher ups and the stores. Very little advancement after lead or store manager. No raises ever.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to your front line employees. Better qualifications for hiring.
Pros
Senior management working hard to address customer and product fatigue. Company has made significant strides in addressing overall customer satisfaction.
Cons
Little to no recognition for individuals that make it happen for the company. A chasm exists between senior management and their employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize the hard work Sprint employees are doing on a daily basis to salvage the company and provide better compensation.
Pros
Sprint has a lot of great talented employees who all work together to push the company forward. The corporate culture is great. Employees can wear jeans everyday even at the Executive level. If your looking for a company on the cutting edge with a gutsy leadership team at the helm, then it's the place for you.
Cons
The lack of stability can be difficult even for a die hard loyal employee. But for those who can stick it out, the payoff will likely be big.
