Former Employee – worked at Sprint Nextel full-time for more than a year
Pros – I'll start by saying that Sprint is a fantastic company to work for. I spent 6 years with this company in various roles within the organization, most recently, as a Prepaid Dealer Account Executive. Sprint helped me work my way through college, financially and provided me with unique opportunities after graduating.
Sprint's prepaid business (Boost & Virgin Mobile) is one of the fastest growing divisions within the company. It is fast paced, energetic and fun. I was able to build many great long-term relationships while I was here and went to many sponsored events and concerts (Freefest, Electric Zoo, Rock-da-Bells).
Working atmospheres outside of corporate retail can be very enjoyable as the company is open to working from home and provides you with a suite of tools to get the job done. I was also provided with a company car, laptop and credit card while working in this position.
Cons – Pay! Pay! Pay! The wireless industry has completely figured itself out from an internal and corporate structure standpoint. Unless you're a wireless veteran, it is very difficult to make a lot of money here. Also, due to the sheer volume and density of the NY market, I was on a team quota unlike the rest of the country.
Most of the jobs I've had here became redundant, which can make you feel complacent at times. There was also sometimes a lack of direction from management.
Advice to Senior Management – Empower, develop and grow your employees!
Although I had great relationships with almost all employees in a management role, I felt that there was a lack of consideration for subordinate growth. Too many managers seemed to be only looking out for their own career growth. I never felt directly challenged by management, which might be a win for some, but not for me. I would also suggest that senior management works to provide more hands on sales trainings for employees.

Current Employee – been working at Sprint Nextel full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – • Superior work/life balance support
• Good benefits
• Forward thinking upper management
• empowerment of the individual employee
Cons – • typical large corporate issues with too many useless meetings or unnecessary people in said meetings
• too many IT roadblocks for certain groups
Advice to Senior Management – Need to take a more granular look at roadblocks for various groups and introduce a bit more flexibility in application of internal standards.

Current Employee – been working at Sprint Nextel full-time for less than a year
Pros – Happiest workforce I've seen.
Pay is exceptional compared to competitors.
Finally someone gets that you have to hire quality people to provide quality service.
Cons – I'm sure there is something but I have not been here long enough to find any.
Advice to Senior Management – None yet. For self interest, I'd like for them to not get bought by DISH.

Current Employee – been working at Sprint Nextel part-time for less than a year
Pros – Awesome benefits, okay commission, very beneficial learning experience.
Like any other retail job it is sales, the beauty with sprint is all activations and upgrades are a flat rate when you get commission, which is easier on the rep as they dont need to up sell on features.
Cons – Commission structure is not the best.
Advice to Senior Management – Start taking more advice from your sales representatives as we are the ones that display what the company is about and know better than anyone else as to what is going to help us succeed.

Current Employee – been working at Sprint Nextel full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Fantastic people, history of innovation, fair practices.
Cons – Current pressures to produce in a time when the company is struggling with it's networks, horrible morale, recent lay-offs and impending buy-out.
