I have been working at Sprint full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I have always loved working on computers and with technology. Sprint has given me the opportunity of the last 15 years to learn, develop, and grow a skill set that will benefit me for the rest of my life, while getting paid very well in the process.

My time working at Sprint in Network and IT Operations has granted me the chance to learn from and develop relationships with people who I can only describe as outstanding. I have also had the chance to work with and learn from vendors at companies such as IBM, HP, BMC, EDS, and CA (just to name a few).

If you are love technology and want to learn from some of the best and brightest in the business....Sprint is a great place to work in my opinion.

    Cons

Due to the competitive nature of the Telecommunications Industry in recent years (the last 5-6) there have been quite a few layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is more so advice to the board of directors over our company than anyone at the management level.

The only and really on beef that I, and many of my coworkers, have taken issue with during the last few years of layoff after layoff is this...

Stop giving executives 50+ million dollars to quit working for us, then in the same year announce another round of layoffs.

To say that this type of move undermines employee confidence about our companies values would be an understatement.

I worked at Sprint (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Ability to learn about new wireless products and stay abreast of technological trends.

    Cons

Most desirable and growth potential jobs are available at the corporate office location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At the time of my last employment, Soft Bank had recently become the "new management force". I've heard many changes have been implemented and business processes have changed. With that, I'm unable to give a personal statement.

I have been working at Sprint full-time

    Pros

Good vacation and time off benefits. Nice health package, but other wireless benefits confusing and constantly changing.

    Cons

Sucks to work in retail for the worst carrier. I get yelled at all the time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect retail. Don't give bonuses to corporate employees based on how well sales do if we dont qualify for the benefit.

I worked at Sprint full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good environment and advancement opportunities for hard workers.
Salary is fair and the benefits package was very good for the job level.
The training is also very thorough for each level of support and each team has weekly training to sessions.

    Cons

Time constraints to solve customer issues can make for a very stress full atmosphere at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on call handle times and more on issues resolved.

I worked at Sprint full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The company has a great positive outlook on itself, its employees and its customers. Benefits are pretty decent as is the phone service discount. Very well done on the requested time off and attendance policies. Company gives plenty of attendance leeway before termination. Good staff, great atmosphere and comfortable settings.

    Cons

Ongoing changes due to Softbank purchase and the ongoing layoffs throughout the year. Some management staff may not be fully trained in techniques or duties that they are overseeing you in. Also, retention offers and attempts are somewhat inconsistent and may need some improvement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you do and remain a positive force for your teams. They sure do notice and appreciate when you stay positive despite any problems.
