I worked at Sprint full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to learn new skills and try new positions within the company. Pays well.

    Cons

Leadership never deselects projects even with multiple resource constraints. Always expected to do more and more and more with less. Too much "flavor of the day" chasing what is important that week. Constantly redoing and adding iterations of the same project with a new twist.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find your focus and trust your high performing employees - that's what's left - to do the job you gave them.

I have been working at Sprint (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Better than average benefits, 401k, etc. opportunities to move within departments, many departments offer positions that are work from home. Great annual bonus.

    Cons

Just like any telecom there are mergers and acquisitions which increase the possibility of layoffs. Average saleries. Possibly even below market for positions.

I have been working at Sprint full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A great mix of people where you can learn so much from a diverse group

    Cons

Typical corporate environment, where upper management does not communicate their goals and direction, but assumes you will get it right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No matter what level you are at, you need to regularly meet with 2-3 levels below you to drive your goals and get a taste of what is real. CEO's VP & Directors get too involved in the BS, and don't really understand what the worker bees are dealing with on a day to day basis. If you don't communicate your goals or direction on a regular basis, how do you expect the people doing the work to get it right?

I worked at Sprint full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great benefits, plenty of work to be done, good people, fair pay, flexible work environments in some groups, proper mission, new leadership.

    Cons

Conflicting agendas, build self-perform model one year to take control of network improvements. Next year lay people off and lean back to model where network development is managed by others, as quantity of work is vast and not closing as quick as consumers demand?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dig into the details of efficiency under CNO / CTO, have KC work with and for the markets. If centralizing efforts, make sure it is in a way that helps, not hinders. Promote culture that sponsors open dialogue and problem-solving vice turf protection, pursed lip, swim lane management and subsequently, politics. Let people know their jobs are secure if they collaborate, lead, communicate and improve!

I have been working at Sprint full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Management supports workers. Opportunities exist to create change. Paid fairly for good work. Confident in leadership. New ownership provides deep pockets.

    Cons

Several reorganizations have been required to compete with much larger traditional phone companies (Verizon and ATT). Strategy has shifted due to reorganizations - Change is everywhere, but, it feels like a constant at Sprint.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain current employment policies and benefits to retain and recruit well. Focus on opportunities to differentiate and leverage experience from Parent Company, Softbank.

I worked at Sprint full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good environment and advancement opportunities for hard workers.
Salary is fair and the benefits package was very good for the job level.
The training is also very thorough for each level of support and each team has weekly training to sessions.

    Cons

Time constraints to solve customer issues can make for a very stress full atmosphere at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on call handle times and more on issues resolved.
