I worked at Sprint full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, great work/life balance, ability to work from home when needed.

    Cons

Bureaucracy. So much of it. Fear of change. A lot of the people were so afraid to do anything that could've been seen as risky, no matter how beneficial it would've been. Loyalty to employees is low to non-existant. Employees were treated as expendable, and never once did I hear people referred to as people, but always as resources.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Humanization of your workforce. Realized that people are more than just resources, and that if you are loyal to them and develop them, a lot of the problems that you face from internal issues will resolve themselves. Lay off of the bureaucracy. So many times while I was there, i saw processes followed for process sake, rather than processes modified for efficiency's sake.

I have been working at Sprint full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great work-life balance -- flexibility, work from home capabilities, and close to home. Your career will be what you make of it. You have the ability to have a long and fulfilling career. There are a variety of jobs available to internal employees. Benefits are highly competitive. Biggest perk is free wireless service.

    Cons

Work does not always align to company strategy. Bureaucracy is abundant regardless of organization. Company morale gets killed with layoffs and reorganization. Executive turnover has been consistent over the past 12 years. It is very hard to maintain any enthusiasm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reorganization and layoffs are necessary at times but it kills company morale and processes/roles and responsibilities are affected. It takes 6-12 months to fully recover.
