I have been working at St. Agnes HealthCare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

My department is great. I have a great manager and great co-workers.

    Cons

Ascension health took over and our PTO time was slashed in half. Uniforms are now mandated. We have old outdated equipment. When something breaks, it's months before it's replaced. No one has gotten a cost of living raise for years!

I worked at St. Agnes HealthCare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people working on the front line are generally very good people who honestly care about helping others.

    Cons

Management is extremely passive in the day to day operations of the hospital. They are so concerned about making sure that the patient is always right that they neglect the human capital that works at thwarting hospital.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make REAL changes that foster a team environment.

I worked at St. Agnes HealthCare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Really good compensation and benefits package. Great work environment. Totally agree with their mission and vision for the company.

    Cons

Pay scale for nursing support staff and administrative employees are not up to par. Very high turnover rate in their satellite outpatient centers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of sitting in orientation class for a day discussing things that should be discussed during the hiring process, I think that vigorous training should be offered to all incoming employees for computer usage and customer service .

I have been working at St. Agnes HealthCare

    Pros

Good benefits, steady hours, and healthcare is an enjoyable field if you have a passion for it. There are also great staff and doctors to work with.

    Cons

The pay is low and raises are laughable for non nursing positions. There's also a high turnover rate and a low staff morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My advice is to pay good staff enough to keep them around. At least enough to support their families. Also, provide customer service training or don't hire people who aren't friendly.

I have been working at St. Agnes HealthCare

    Pros

benefits are decent, not great, but decent
It's conveniently located almost outside of the city so the commute is reasonable without fighting a lot of city traffic
Pay is competitive with other institutions

    Cons

Inept management all the way around
Middle management seems much more concerned with covering their own butts that they are willing to throw good people under the bus when something compromises the way they look to senior management
Parking on site used to be decent, now it is a nightmare

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management has to begin to show some consideration for the employee. While it is true that patient care is overall the most important things, stress out employees do not facilitate for great patient care.
