I worked at St Francis Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, low pressure environment, monthly goals are always attainable with hard work.

    Cons

Pay wasn't the greatest but employees received bonuses for meeting goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lunches were too short to even go to nearby restaurants.

I have been working at St Francis Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Nice facility and pleasing atmosphere

    Cons

Terribly understaffed. Employees are treated as disposable assets. Zero consideration as to how long an employee has been loyal to the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the cronyism immediately! This is partially responsible for the current, terrible financial situation the hospital is suffering. Walk the walk and LISTEN to your employees! You give this "lip service" only but you have not followed through.

I have been working at St Francis Hospital (more than a year)

    Pros

    Small town is lovely!
    Coworkers are mostly nice.

    Cons

Rotating schedules are insane. Expect to rotate from day shift to night shift within a 24 hour period. No regard to work life balance. Sexual harassment is ignored for months. Management does not care. Shady lab practices all around, expired reagents, bad QC e.t.c. This is a BAD lab. The problems are deep seated and endemic it will take an overhaul to fix. Run!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs a complete overhaul. This lab has been run badly for so long that everyone there is used to it and believes this is the way things should be.

    Cons

    Hours are a little weird

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe give the employees some type of incentives.

I worked at St Francis Hospital

    Pros

Employees like becoming part of a "family" outside of their own. Having a great group of people with the same goals, work ethic and integrity makes for a well oiled machine!

    Cons

There is quite a bit of micromanaging going on. Often times staff didn't know who was in charge of the dept. or who they were to answer to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it clear to employee's who the department heads are so there is no confusion. Managers should refer to other piers if it's outside of their parameters and assigned to another. Confusion and miscommunication causes doubt and doubt causes anxiety. Everyone wants to feel good when they come into work each day with no worries about whats waiting for them the next day.

I have been working at St Francis Hospital

    Pros

Very kind staff, understanding, compassionate, hard working.

    Cons

Understaffed, people leave and are not replaced... too much work, no breaks, come in early and work late. Clinical people put in administrative/ IT positions with very limited working proficiency of basic office applications.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The industry is changing, need to hire non-clinical people into IT/ non-clinical administrative positions.
