    Pros

Excellent place to work! Staff works as a team consistently; unmatched 1199SEIU Union Benefit.

    Cons

None! Team work allows everyone to share the job duties equally, thus everyone is always IRIE & MELLOW at the end of the shift!!!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at St. Johns Riverside Hospital part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pays well for no experience and not a difficult job

    Cons

1199 Union makes it impossible to fire people, so the majority of the dept has been there for years, is nasty to each other, bitter, lazy, disgruntled, and calls out constantly at the last minute. You cannot go home at the end of your shift until the next shift comes to relieve you and if they don't show up, you are stuck working. The hard working part time people are stuck in a hostile negative atmosphere. Management doesn't do anything to the repeat offenders. Its just a known issue who all the problem people are and what they do. There is never any consequences for these people.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the LAZY, USELESS people and give Full Time to those who actually show up and work everyday.

    Pros

They always call you for extras hours if you need make extra cash

    Cons

You pay for parking. Is better take our lunch because they don't pay to have a break.

    Advice to Management

They should have more respect to the CNA in this place, the second floor treat people like dog is the worse environmental place I ever work, and surprise! Is inside a hospital!

    Pros

The compensation for this job is excellent. We meet great patients that always remember us time and time again when they come back.

    Cons

There is almost no communication between employees and administration. Also, not everyone is treated equally. The consequences for missing work are ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more with employees, and be fair. Also, treat everyone the same no matter how long that employee has been working there.

    Pros

Collaborative work-environment where teamwork is practiced daily. Quality nursing care and community involvement are part of St. John's Riverside's success.

    Cons

St. John's Riverside Hospital relies heavily on funding of federal and state government entities and as a result in a down economy the funding gets cut.

    Advice to Management

It is important to continue best practices and to continue to development employees regardless of the economic conditions facing the health care industry.
