    Great atmosphere! Being an employee there feels like being a member of a family.

    Pros

    Very friendly place to work. .great benefits including medical and retirement ...pay is very similar to other positions in the area

    Cons

    Growing to big to fast...expanding to fast and hiring to many employees to fast causing layoffs being over staffed in some areas. .

    Pros

    Departments of the hospital largely define their own culture, Behavioral Health consists of a professional and driven team, Management in Behavioral Health consists of seasoned professionals.

    Cons

    Changes in upper management of the hospital have caused minor strife in the general community of the hospital. Spending on building and renovation of the hospital has caused concern about the hospital's financial wellbeing.

    I worked at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Met a lot of good friends. Close to home and advancement opportunities. Job changed every day and weekbto week kept you on your toes.

    Cons

    Low pay sort staffed that called in way to often but when are team was all present it was always smooth, we stocked all the nursing units and placed orders for the next day.

    Advice to Management

    Should promote from within when yhe outsiders with fancy degrees started runnining the department it started going down hill fast!

    The nepotism and politics are ridiculous and add a level of unprofessionalism that is disgusting

    Advice to Management

    If you treat your employees with respect and a chance to have a voice you would prevent a lot of turn over. And your health plan should include use of your facility at no fee for employees

    Pros

    I believe that our staff genuinely care about patients and their families. In most cases they are ethical and have a very determined, hard working staff.

    Cons

    Work expectations are a bit unrealistic. They routinely expect 50-60 hour work weeks out of employees salaried at 40 hours. Management does not always serve it's purpose of breaking down barriers. Personal growth isn't encouraged. Years of service will always be more important than quality of work over those years.

    Advice to Management

    Managers should work on serving their employees rather than serving them up on a platter. Stick up for your people! Be interested in your employees growth, help them achieve their goals. Follow through on your commitments, don't go back on your word.

    understaffed, constant cut backs that can compromise safe patient care

    Advice to Management

    Spend more on being fully staffed than renovations. Its nice to have a beautiful hospital but people prefer a safe one where staff isn't stretched and stressed.
