I worked at St. Joseph's Hospital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good benefits such as health insurance and pto. Retirement is vanilla 401k

    Cons

I worked there in the clinical informatics department. This department was responsible for supporting the electronic medical record (emr). No one wantes to share knowlege because they fear losing their jobs. Management gets vindictive. No room to advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No worth the time; poor management through out hospital and perhaps the health system.

I have been working at St. Joseph's Hospital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Just about everyone is very close and act like a giant family. You get to meet tons of interesting people from all over.

    Cons

There are some nurses that believe they are better than everyone else and are very rude to everyone. Its hard to get time off in my department. On top of that they love to play the favorites game and give there "buddies" special treatment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

try to reward the hard working people and crack down on the slackers

I have been working at St. Joseph's Hospital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great co-workers, friendly and helpful. Most clinical area are somewhat new and modern, but most non-clinical work areas on campus are older, except executive areas.

Time off is difficult, they treat salaried employee's like hourly too!

    Cons

Real lack of modern management, Most managers/directors/VP are old school, can't create a project plan or agenda, heck they can't even run a meeting and keep things on track. Very limited planning, everything seems to be re-active to problems.
