    Pros

    Great committment to work/life balance

    Cons

I think my satisfaction is direclty related to my awesome manager, not everyone has the same experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership needs to walk the walk...they preach to all of the teams the LEAN process but yet many times themselves put the cart before the horse.

    Pros

An organization with good growth potential. Employee benefits and treatment is acceptable.

    Cons

The organization is growing too quick to become a health system, and at time jeopardizes quality because of it. There are many managers that are not very qualified or productive; an in depth review of many departmental managers and employees needs to be implemented.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a closer look at departmental managers and employees to improve processes and productivity. What seems apparent from an exterior perspective is not always the reality once you take a closer look at certain departments. Reorganizing can save the organization lots of money.

    Pros

Generous PTO, work-life balance. If you want job security without having to be held accountable, this is a great place for you.

    Cons

politics and director level leadership that is not accountable. A lot of areas allow "coasters". Alot of time and meetings spend seeking consensus and making sure everyone is happy as opposed to acting and making decisions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on what you want to do and do it! Hold the managers and directors making 6 figures accountable or get rid of them.

    Pros

St. Luke's has good benefits and hire some great people. They are very employee centered so once you are "in" at St. Luke's it is easy to move around within the company and grow. Don't have strict policies or micro-managers. Instead believe in that their employees are doing their best.

    Cons

Don't have the most competitive salaries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help your employees to move up and not stay stagnant.

Truly transforming healthcare but forgetting to hold on to talent within

Current Employee - Patient Access Services in Boise, ID

    Pros

A great work environment and some of the friendliest capable people I have ever worked with

    Cons

Although they have a goal to transform healthcare they like many other large organizations are stuck in an industrial era HR model that doesn't reward and incentivize linchpins who can make real changes to stay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Breakdown the traditional factory style HR structure and promote incentivize true artists (see Seth Godin's Linchpin). For the most part HR is in its own silo that works counter to the vision and work of the managers actually seeking talent.
