  1. I have been working at St Peter's Hospital

    Pros

Integrity as a CDI is of the utmost importance at St Helena Hospital Napa Valley as are quality and compliance with AHIMA guidelines. Great Docs!

    Cons

In transition from individual site to a corporate model. But many are doing the same.

    Pros

    Helping people really felt good.

    Cons

I worked as a Tech in the ICU. An under paid over worked job. Some of the RN Nurses were truly great and cared. But many others did not. They would not answer call lights even when sitting right in front of the room. Management was terrible. They cut the number of Techs in half while added extra duties, but added more and more "Supervisors", etc who did nothing. The Exec, MGT was the worst. Hide in the offices all day long, had no idea what was going on and looked dirty and drugged half the time. They ordered 2 Keurig machines and a Cappuccino machine, billed to the hospital ( I saw the bill), but wouldnt order a new Glucometer because it was too expensive. They cared more about expensive coffee drinks than having proper equipment and staff!! This was the ICU!! Where the sickest patients go!! If this is how the ICU functions can you imagine what the less urgent departments are like?! If I am ever very sick I will not go to St. Peters Hospitals. There are no more Nurses of my Mothers generation left.

    Advice to Management

Cut over paid, do nothing supervisors and managers. Spend more money and energy on direct care staff and equipment, especially Techs. Those who take care of the patients are the face and backbone of the Hospital.

    Pros

the patients were they reason to stay

    Cons

skewed processes were the reason to leave

    Advice to Management

more home case managers, streamlining processes, more bereavement support, comp time when working past 40 hours or overtime, education to community physicians, better education upon what hospice can do for the patients. A great majority of patients expect more than what hospice can deliver.
