    Pros

    Used to be a very proud workforce with strong moral, strong team environment and management support.

    Cons

    Many of the current executive management team is a group of cut throat, backstabbing, unqualified individuals who establish no clear direction or priorities and run around putting out fires all day. No clear direction or vision.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Replace the director of rooms with a qualified, creditable individual with luxury hotel experience. Replace the manager with a more personable, moral boosting, encouraging individual. Improve the union - company relationship and end years of allowing union to dictate policy.

    I worked at St. Regis Hotels full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Very Friendly, Professional atmosphere. Made me feel like I belonged right away. Taught me ins and outs of fine dining. Very personable GM. Ability to move around within company as well as to other locations. Benefits were nice! Learned a lot through this job and met many people I'm still friends with. Overall great experience, get on if you can and have the time to work.

    Cons

    Expected me to work many, long hours, all weekends and holidays. Could be a pro if your looking for hours. Because the company was so large it was often hard to be heard and there was often communication breakdown between departments which led to frustration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take a huge interest in thorough efficient communication between departments. Treat all employees like they are capable and important. Have high expectations of all employees and they will feel like they need to reach them. Don't play favorites at all. Keep a sense of humor and humility.

    Pros

    The resorts and hotels are beautiful and I was proud to be part of Starwood. Great employee benefits for travel. Hard working middle management and great team work.

    Cons

    Inconsistent standards across the brand which often made it hard to make guest happy who were used to higher services in other St Regis hotels.

    Pros

    Excellent training for interacting with different types of people. My speech and overall communication skills have improved considerably!

    Cons

    A bit difficult to request time off when in the busy season. But usually an adequate number of people are hired. However, when there are too many associates hired, it can be difficult to get hours.

    prestige hotel that looks good on your resume, decent benefits, great discount program on their hotels, good co-workers

    Cons

    like most big business management is concerned mostly with the bottom line, difficult to move positions or to move up, work schedule will be erratic and controlled by the level of business

    be good to your employees, show them you care and appreciate the good work they do rather than just focusing on the negative

    Pros

    Beaituful work environment, with beautiful people. I worked at the Monarch Beach location and it was an awesome place to be. I worked in F&B at a private restaurant right on the beach. The staffing was made up of all awesome people with positive attitudes and we all got a long very well, which made working there very enjoyable. Management was excellent and encouraged promotions, so moving up positions was not a problem at all, I was able to work in all three of the restaurants, as well as train and work 3 different positions within F&B, while I worked at the St. Regis.

    Cons

    During peak travel times, your work flow will be increased but that is to be expected, but you will be compensated for your troubles. After looking back, it's rather hard to come up with a complaint, they take care of you here at the St. Regis.

    Pros

    Working with the finest products and employees in the industry. Discounts on all starwood hotels.

    Cons

    Just as every job in the hotel industry, working holidays and weekends. Health benefits are costly.

    Keep the good management staff instead of moving them around to different properties.
