I worked at St. Vincent's Health Services

    Pros

Rewarding job ob giving and helping special needs clietns.

    Cons

Dealing with the staff of careworkers is the mos challenging. They are basically incompetent for the most part and rather lazy which seems to be a common trait among many of the workers in this organization. If you are a manager that likes to see things done right and hold your staff accountable you will have a hard time with this because upper management does not support group home mangers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

St. Vincent's needs to hire managers and directors who actually care about job performance and their staff. Accountability would go a long way.

I have been working at St. Vincent's Health Services

    Pros

magnet recognized and truly put patients first

    Cons

Health care is very expensive and still have a lot of out of pocket costs, small hospital so any complaints about fellow co workers will not be dealt with properly but rather just gossiped about. Usually understaffed and never know what is going on at the hospital

I have been working at St. Vincent's Health Services full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great co-workers, benefits and experience

    Cons

    Shifts understaffed
Ran out of needed supplies constantly
Constant changes to protocol without adequate directions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I strongly suggest that the staff take notice of the fact that there are too many people playing on Facebook etc... and the others have to pick up the slack. These people are often working under our license and yet they present with a nasty attitude when asked to complete a task they should have done in the first place. This adds to stress of those who are working hard in addition to the fact that most of the time we are working under staffed and low on necessary supplies and equipment. There is also the issue of protocol changes that are not well established. It is very common for things to change and if you ask 4 people you will get 4 versions of "what we are doing now".
