    I worked at Stagecoach

    Pros

    value employees
    very flexible
    lovely people and management
    great family feel
    excellent remuneration
believe in their employees and give freedom to develop

    Cons

1 person to do the work of 5 - too streamlined
an old culture is still too dominating for relatively few challengers to overpower
too much experience with buses and not enough with customers
no formal pro-active investment in the development and training of people to keep them current

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get someone at the top that doesn't know buses, but knows customers.
identify skill-set gaps at every level of management, particularly to do with customer-centric thinking, and give them the time and support to develop them
ask people to keep a log of what they're trying to achieve and what is blocking them from achieving it, and change their support levels to help them

I have been working at Stagecoach

    Pros

Extra weeks holiday after 5 years service, payed on time every week,

    Cons

Is to much unpaid time on the shifts, management style appears to be more about breaking staff moral than anything else..shift work as to be expected in bus driving but not well structured shift pattens.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

losing to many good staff by not caring about them day to day and with style of management . stagecoach attitude seems to be they are easily replaced but this is a quite short sighted view considering nature of the job.

I worked at Stagecoach full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I cannot see any other than it is only a job and helps to pay a living but other than that nothing.

    Cons

The staff turnover is very high & that fact proves that they don't care about the employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change the bullying culture.

I have been working at Stagecoach full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company, opportunity to travel/branch out.

    Cons

As is probably usual with large organisations, there is an element of lack of communication between Managers/Directors and the main workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve the pay and conditions of the core employees.

I worked at Stagecoach full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The drivers all help each other out,the majority of passengers are nice people and a pleasure to be with. The pay is good, although you tend to work long hours.

    Cons

Drivers never get any support from the management and you are automatically blamed for any accident until you are proven innocent. The hours can be very long on local service as the don't use a tachograph and are not under the same rules.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

value your drivers, without them you have no business.

Its a very micro managed organisation, in my team we pointed out the shortfalls of a product offering and it was ignored till the people at the top caught up
