    RN OR and endoscopy

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsWhen I worked there things and times were different. By the time I left Stamford hospital I was making good money

ConsThey got new management and everything changed DRASTICALLY !
They "cleaned house" and started getting rid of really great people and didn't care how it affected anyone. They were also too strict abt hours and punching in and out. Almost felt like a prison

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't fire people for reasons that are unfair. Some really good people lost their jobs there after YEARS of dedicated service. Shame

    No Longer Camelot

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Stamford, CT

ProsGood pay. New facility will be world class. Theoretically, this is a Planetree facility, which signifies patient centered care as well as care for the caregiver.

ConsPlanetree apparently no longer pertains to employees. Units, that were once "teams," are now groups of individuals beaten down by management and who are leaving the organization rapidly. Poor morale. Very poor middle management. Sadly, this will all negatively affect patient care.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not blame hard working employees for the culture you created and destroyed. Morale is low and declining even more. This was once a great organization, but not anymore. Working for a new organization that values employees only makes one realize how deflating it was to come to work everyday at Stamford Hospital.

    Stamford Hospital....Fall from Grace

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Stamford, CT

ProsIn theory, the hospital subscribes to the Planetree philosophy, which represents a passionate culture towards patients and employees alike. The hospital is physically growing and will be a major regional facility.

ConsPoor morale which is a direct result of extremely poor management. While this was once a great place to work, employees are now leaving at a frenetic pace. Limited career ladder. Chronically short staffed, which leads to chronically unhappy employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease look at the individuals who are placed in Director position. When employees are leaving at alarming rates, this is a symptom of things flowing from the top down. Upper administration is outstanding, though middle management is horrendous and needs to be closely scrutinized.

The work of non-management employees is not valued by management.

Registered Nurse (Former Employee) Stamford, CT

ProsSalary and benefits are very good but the Human Resources Dept are uncaring on a personal level.

ConsPromotions in the nursing department are based on friendships and not merit. Dedication to the patients was not valued by management. Older workers are not appreciated and frequently the target of bullying / harassment by younger supervisors. Parking is very difficult on site.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your hard working and dedicated employees that are there 24/7 caring for patients.

Not Good for Longer Term Employment

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsEmployees work with professionals with higher education who are always providing the latest in health care and health programs.

ConsThey are developing their management style; they are not quite there yet. They don't have a culture and mission that promotes employee trust and growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide developmental opportunities and value what each individual brings to the job whether they are a new or older seasoned employee. Cultivate individual employee growth.
