A company that cares about its employees

Technical Support Representative (Former Employee)
El Segundo, CA

I worked at Stamps.com full-time for more than a year

Pros- Excellent benefits/PTO.
- Relaxed and friendly corporate culture.
- Lots of events are held for employees with free food and drinks.
- Stock options help boost salary
- Hires talent from within, lots of internal promotions

Cons- Sometimes slow to change
- For a technology company, some systems/processes are extremely outdated
- Not enough QA testing of their software
- Communication between departments is improving, but still not ideal. Customer Care is often left in the dark, whether intentional or not.

Terrible management.

Sales (Former Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Stamps.com full-time for more than a year

ProsPerhaps you get a free stamp or two. The real worker bees are nice.

ConsTerrible management. Executive management needs to take a class in management.

Advice to Senior ManagementCEO needs a personality. Executive management needs to understand the core business of what managing a sales organization means. Just because you have a masters degree does not mean you are better than everyone else.

ProsManagement is easily approachable and the company invests in its employees.
Work life balance and flexible hours.

ConsPromotions or title changes are almost impossible to get if you are in a technical field.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work.

Great Company

Technical Support Representative (Current Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I have been working at Stamps.com full-time for more than a year

ProsExcellent benefits, and a great work environment. Management is great to work with, and also very supportive of moving forward in the company.

ConsThey take being on time and clocking in to the extreme. If you are a minute late, it's counted against you, however, in that same token, if you are on time you will get rewarded for this.

A nice place to work

Senior Software Developer (Current Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I have been working at Stamps.com full-time for more than a year

ProsNice new office building, free snacks and drinks, chance to learn a lot about e-commerce. Company is profitable and the future is looking bright.

ConsPeople are generally nice but there seems to be a lack of good coordination and communication between teams. Some of the technology being used is a bit dated.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere should be more team knowledge sharing. Or some more company wide meetings would be nice.

A lot of talent in the offices of Stamps.com

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Stamps.com

ProsStamps.com has a tradition of hiring extremely bright and talented people. Most people must most definitely come out of Stamps.com having learned a lot. No challenge is too big. If there is no way to accomplish something - then invent a way.

ConsI think being a public company has changed the culture and goals of the company such that, while decisions might be good for the quarterly conference calls, much of the drive and innovation that built the company earlier on has been lost.

Advice to Senior ManagementI don't really have any advice for senior management. I know it is easy to criticize, but there are reasons for all the decisions. Sr management is smart. Just value all good employees. Not just those that stand out and do what they are told.

Mildly challenging professionally; relatively secure fiscally; good total benefits package but average compensation.

Marketing (Former Employee)
West Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Stamps.com

ProsExcellent benefits package but compensation alone is under national average.

ConsStifling creativity; development teams are slow to move on projects.
