    Pros

There is good exposure for new staff and there strong internal networking. Ultimately depends on the team though.

    Cons

Mediocre people abound, quite a lot of people get in through nepotism so jobs and the quality of the people holding the jobs don't match

    Advice to Management

Some people at the top need to go.

    Pros

Good brand that has historical significance in emerging markets, which is where the action is at.

    Cons

Poor work-life balance, depending on the department you are working in. 80+ hour weeks are not uncommon.

    Pros

Colleagues - generally friendly and helpful. Provided good training for my program (compared with other banks). Benefits are reasonable. Pay can be mediocre or good, depending on position and department.

    Cons

Upper management seems to have no direction, and no clue as to what is happening on the ground. Messy, unstructured, no direction - people seem to be leaving in masses. Does not seem to fire people, even the ones who seem to be terrible at their job or at managing people.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue as to what is going on, especially in the areas you're supposed to be making money from.

    Pros

Plenty of non-monetary benefits. Adequate leave.

    Cons

HR structure for growth awfully slow. Too many conflicting layers and heads.

    Advice to Management

time to clear the unnecessary layering. Streamline the business and focus on areas of growth. Management structure too heavy with conflicting instructions.

    Pros

Client oriented and flexible to needs of clients. Supportive in changing roles and geographies.

    Cons

Very political and competitive. US is off-strategy for the bank so little chance for progression. Colleagues are very detached and not interested in friendship.

    Advice to Management

Focus on US and provide opportunity for US employees. Cut down on vested interest and let real performers shine.

    Pros

Reputable bank, employee benefits, all action, innovative, charitable, offers bridges to explore new departments, staff discounts, growth, one of a kind experience

    Advice to Management

Focus on the products and keep close to the competitions Add some variety to the products Exploit a market niche Take staff feedback one to one Manage team as individuals Keep to realistic commitments or adapt to keep original commitments; the market is always change adjustments are necessary
