Was a decent company, but seems to be sliding each year.

I have been working at Standard Chartered Bank

    Pros

Advancement opportunities were great and the bank encourages you to spend time overseas so there can be a lot of travel or short/long term assignments abroad.

    Cons

Senior management doesn't seem to know what the next steps are. There has been a shakeup throughout the bank and I saw lots of good people leave on the back of it who knew the bank well.

    Pros

This is the best place to work. The pay and benefits are great! Your knowledge will grow, as you will be tasked with many projects. Most of all the people are great, very diversified! I miss my "work family".

    Cons

None really. If you don't like New York city life then this is not the place for you. HQ is in the middle of Times Square.

    Pros

SCB is focused on emerging markets while maintaining a slight aversion for risk. That configuration led the bank to do extremely well during recent financial crisis.

    Cons

Too many processes in place. takes a long time to make decisions.

It's a pleasant working environment. I learnt a lot about wholesale banking. Staffs are professional and nice. Compensation is ok.

Everything seems pretty good. But I only worked at there for almost a year. So I can't say I have a very thorough understanding.
