    I worked at Standard Coffee Service Co. (Less than a year)

    None they don't have any pros

    Cons

    This was a top 250 company to work for until they sold out to D.S. Waters. Never understood how they got financially into a position where they sold a family business that was one of the cornerstones of New Orleans. Very sad and their reputation continues to slide they never should have allowed new owners to use their name.

    Advice to Management

    Buy it back and treat people right!!!!!

    Pros

    The people who I worked with were awesome. The benefits were great. The amount of promotion of the brand was fabulous.

    Cons

    There were not many cons at all at the outside I would say two words - Transparency lacked and that is about it.

    Advice to Management

    Work with the people you support. Give them your trust and let them know what is coming around the bend.

    I worked at Standard Coffee Service Co. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    In the Phoenix, Arizona market I did not see or hear about any pros to working for D.S.Services, on the water side of the company. On the coffee side they pretty much paid 95% of there attention to the water side, so you can figure it out from there. I made good money but, it was not worth the constant berating that you had to put up with.

    Cons

    The leadership in the Phoenix, Az. market only cares about there own interests, the sales numbers, at the expense of the employees who do the grunt work for them. They come across in a way that makes you feel that they care about you as an employee but, in reality that is not the way it really is. They disrespect the individual employees on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

    When you are looking to define the problems you have at a particular location you might want to look at your managements style first instead of just taking the easy way out by putting the fault on the individual route representatives.
