    Pros

Not many pros to mention. Flexible hours were about the only one. All the pros were taken away when Stantec bought the company.

    Cons

Stantec has a very proficient way of lowering moral to new lows and then taking them even lower. The company is completely guided by profit numbers. The people who get promoted to department managers are those that have the quality of treating others like dirt. Hourly employees were "advised" to work overtime and not show it on their timecards. Stantec buys companies, tears them apart, and many good people will lose their jobs because their salaries are too high.

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror, you are the problem !!!

    Pros

Excellent: Salary, Benefits, Teamwork in the trenches and Social Interactions.

    Cons

Top heavy management system that makes decisions and policies by committee only. No management accountability. Middle management tend to micro manage. The Corporate Tag Line about Employees Being the most Valuable Asset is total Bravo Sierra.

    Advice to Management

Get some Leaders who are able to make individual decisions instead of decision by committee and be held accountable for those decisions. Get rid of ISO credentials which costs the Client but offers nothing else.

Was paid above average wage for work rendered.
Hiring process was fast and efficient.
I was given my own parking spot in large city.

    Cons

Very limited opportunity for growth at current position. The time off policies were very restricted. Was required to work very long and tiring hours.

    Pros

Nice office, relaxed culture, not micromanaged.

    Cons

The employees I interacted with were un-passionate and merely looking to put in their 9-5. The project I worked on was merely for profit that a person with no engineering experience could be programmed to complete. Management makes counter-productive criticism about certain employees to other employees; audible enough so that others can hear. Management lacks respect for their employees. This company is not the place where you can grow. Questions are glazed over merely to complete the task, not to educate and foster the growth. After all, this is a publicly traded company and profit is the main goal.

    Pros

Decent benefits package. System to progress in areas of expertise for salary increases. Powerful computer software tools.

    Cons

A lot of pressure to find your own jobs to keep yourself billable. A lot of pressure on utilization rates makes you afraid to bill admin time. VPN is so slow it is hard to get anything done. Web browser is antiquated to the extent that very few webpages will even load and the company won't update it. Company blocks internet sites, makes research difficult.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your employees.

    Pros

Good benefits package. Very safety oriented.

    Cons

Not a lot of time for family as they want you to be there 10 hours a day seven days a week unless you are a supervisor. They come in when they are ready. There is way too much favoritism among the supervisors. If you are in their click you can get by with anything but if you aren't in their click Watch your back.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to listen to your workers.especially in the pine bluff plant. They are tired but are afraid to say anything for fear of losing their jobs. I was there for 5years,as a process tech, spoke up for myself and my associates and was fired, accused of insubordination.I would like to have my job back but as long as the same supervisors are there they will take this plant down.

    Pros

Great working environment, good benefits. A lot of very smart, very passionate people.

    Cons

I came in right as the economy fell apart in 09, and they a had a lot of issues communicating just how bad things were going with the firm. It was a disappointing end to what should have been a great job.

    Advice to Management

    More transparency.
