Great company but many managers let policy interfere with what is best for stores/customers

I have been working at Staples part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good work environment and competent company.

    Cons

They typically provide a quality product but the warranty service cuts corners and service behind it could be increased tremendously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow managers more discretion at store level

    I worked at Staples

    Pros

Brand name environment. Friendly, diverse coworkers. Long history of survival. Frequent sales and promotions. Decent location though MA is high tax.

    Cons

Little respect from customers and management. Frequent commiseration. No time to rest or sit, get to know colleagues or try to improve. Lost in a big corporation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate all employees, often the brighter ones occupy lesser jobs. Find a way to cultivate talent and ditch the big brother.
