Work well with students and college student schedule. Great with transfering locations if you are looking to move to another store.
Cons
Starting wages have since decreased in years passed. Other than that not too many complants other than lack of decent raises.
Advice to Senior Management
I have always had a good experience with leadership at staples during my time. Just work on better pay scale and raises.
Pros
Easy to work with.
managers are informative and very understanding.
Clean environment to work in.
Learn about new software and sharewares.
Cons
Repetitive at times due to a big corporation with many stores.
Have to find extra things to do when your done with your work.
Advice to Senior Management
Implement and listen to associates when advice is given. Everything is by the book. Some things can be enlightened while doing it by the book.
Pros
learning talking to new people every day moving up is pretty easy if your good at what you do overall its ok
Cons
pay rate sucks managers have there head up in the clouds and dont know how to treat employees so lets get with the program before you lose people you wish you didnt lose
Advice to Senior Management
treat your techs like gold because at this point in time tech is the number one focus for staples so treat them like there your best friend
Pros
Work/Life balance is great! Pay is very good. People here are great to work with.
Cons
Concerned more with bottom line than doing the job right the first time.
Pros
provide good customer service, help customers find the right supply they may need in the best interest of the customer
Cons
manager and co-workers attitude toward each other
Pros
Fun people to work with
Cons
Useless management, utterly useless management
Advice to Senior Management
Fire the idiot in Airdrie.
Pros
Strong marketing - but mixed channel messages
Cons
Low pay
Poor leadership
Promotion by nepotism only
Staples Soul (they don't have one, it's more like brainwashing)
Pros
nice people, so so customers, pretty routine business, lots of good sales on techology and back to school products, good prices on most of the products and furniture pieces.
Cons
mgt. doesnt have a clue, senior mgt shows no support, is only number and sales driven, does not care about anythig else. No structured training, just hurry and finish it. then get on the floor and sell. No operational support at all, just dont fail an audit...haha! Good ole boys club that I dont want any part of!
Advice to Senior Management
Show some accoutability toward GMs ad DMS! They suck!!!! The asst mgrs ad associates ru the entire show, and GMs and DMS hide behind their doors ad yell at everyone over them hone...ridiculous structure
Pros
Management was pretty cool, just wish they would not have jacked me up with hours finals week.
Cons
lots of emphasis on protection packages that are bad value... incentivize it if you want people to care.
Advice to Senior Management
Maybe not focus on protection packages so much.
Pros
Staples is a large company with many resources. There are many opportunities for advancement. The company has a solid plan for growth and staying ahead of its competition.
Cons
The company is too focused on its selling stategies and new customer service model, It's taking away from the core retail techniques which made us a great company. If I could focus souly on driving sales and getting back to basics my job would be much more satisfying.
