Pros
Great compensation, Total pay, considering all of the benefits
Cons
Having to work at 3am.
Pros
Pay (for the field). Starts $.90 above minimum, $.40 raise after 6 months, free coffee/ tea "markout" weekly, competetive benefits after 20 hours /week, paid time off after 1 year with company (1 hour for every 40 worked), flexible schedule
Cons
If you are under the 240 hour /quarter limit for insurance, they will drop you like a hot potato, there is a constant emphasis on doing as much as possible with as little coverage as possible, lots of targets for sales (I work in a well performing store, no issues there)
Advice to Senior Management
I understand the need to reduce staffing, but this can get extreme at times. Please empower store managers to staff their stores better.
Pros
Flexible, lively environment with many locations.
Cons
Would like management to consider taking Visa and debit card tips.
Pros
The people, growth potential, and their investment in our continous learning!
Cons
At times it can be long days, or hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Be humble and of with asking for help. No one knows everything.
Pros
Very supportive management
Outstanding benefits (even for part-time employees)
Access to have a positive influence on people's days
Room to move up in the company
Easy transferability to other locations (they're everywhere)
Cons
Can be stressful at times.
Advice to Senior Management
The more support offered to baristas the better.
Pros
Flexible, Respectful, Fun, Great Benefits, Free coffee
Cons
Low pay, Too awesome, No other complaints
Advice to Senior Management
Store management is a thank-less job: increase managers pay or incentives based on performance.
Pros
Starbucks offers schedule flexibility, dental/vision/health insurance, free product, 30% discount, advancement, tuition reimbursement, fast paced, paid training, open forums, and great tips!
Cons
Working for Starbucks means you will have to deal with demanding and mean customers, aggressive sales goals, working weekends and holidays, endless cleaning tasks, team members that do not want to work and minor (work related injuries).
Advice to Senior Management
Publicly reward, praise and recognize your partners as often as you can. Acknowledge Partner Appreciation Day every month and try to avoid under-staffing. Be available.
Pros
The ability to run your business, in a very people oriented business. Having fun while at work is key and the benefits make it easy to higher quality associates.
Cons
Sometimes the labor allowed during different day parts makes it tough to run the business. A lot is expected and not always able to complete in a timely manor!
Advice to Senior Management
Look more into staffing with more balance on staffing earned from drinks not transaction count. So labor in drive thru vs lobby needs to be balanced more.
Pros
Great people to work with and great atmosphere
Cons
can get very busy and stressful
Advice to Senior Management
I think there should be more raises
Pros
Starbucks has fair hours and great benefits for even part time employees. Easy to get a long with company culture.
Cons
The early hours are sometimes rough.
