    Pros

    Starkey leads the industry in customer service and innovative products. The leadership team is always looking at ways to improve and grow. This is a fast-paced, aggressive company with its eye on growth. If you are looking to punch the clock, this is no place for you. You will work hard but be rewarded for your contribution. You get what you give at Starkey.

    Cons

    Starkey can be tough to break into as a newcomer. There is also some dead wood that needs to go, but that's common in most large companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be careful not to alienate new employees and resist favoritism. It can be very distracting and non-motivating to those outside of the cliques.

    Pros

    * Good employee appreciation.
    * Rewarding job purpose.
    * Good benefits.
    * Profit Sharing/ESOP

    Cons

    * Co-workers that have been there for many many years are not as professional as they would be when they are new. Or they are too stuck in their old ways.
    * Some political bureaucracy can be frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep old time employees in their toes and don't let them get away with things you wouldn't normally allow from new employees.

    Pros

    This is an amazing company to work for if you want to work hard and contribute. Starkey is a leader in the industry. They expect a lot but give back twice as much to those employees that work hard and are loyal. I love my job. I have enormous respect for my manager and share the values of this organization and foundation. It's definitely not a good place for slackers. Those people are weeded out quickly and I'm ok with that. There is no other way to run a successful organization.

    Cons

    None that I can think of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stay the course and keep up the good work!

    Pros

    The Software department has good personalities and team spirit; There's a pretty decent emphasis on knowledge sharing and professional development; The technology in the products that Starkey sells is cutting edge and cool to work with.

    Cons

    Schedules here can be aggressive. Be prepared to work hard and make deadlines, but that is really no different from any other successful company.

    Pros

    -So many great people to work with
    -Good benefits
    -Amazing foundation that the owner started - makes you proud to work for a company like that

    Cons

    -Starkey really is a great company and can be amazing place to work if you have good management above you, but if you don't, they can hold you back and allow no room for advancement and learning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Look at your employees for who they are and allow them to grow within the company even if that means loosing them from your team. If you don't, you may loose them from the company, not just your team.
