Problematic for B-School Management Grads as there is no clear cut path to progress in career

Assistant Vice President (Former Employee) Mumbai (India)

ProsOpportunities to learn different aspects of banks but only if you are placed at corporate center.
    Good workplace for Women

ConsHighly Bureaucratic i.e all depends who is your boss... Management at Circle Levels is very unfriendly with B-School Grads.
    Corrupt Officials
No Career Path : You will rarely have a subordinates at circle level.
Comparatively Low Salary for B-School Grads

Advice to Senior ManagementMake Appraisal more transparent and objective at Circle Level. Narrow Minded Functionaries & Anti MTs are interpreting appraisal according their own tastes.
Don't let it be a revenge mechanism or a tool to get work done from contractual employee especially in Wholesale Banking.

Not the best environment to work.. People around are old school !!!

General Banking (Current Employee) Mumbai (India)

    ProsJob security... Nothing else !!!

ConsDon't be over enthusiast.. Top Management is there to curb it all !!!

Advice to Senior ManagementWe don't want nightmare of a chairman like Mr. Pratip C. Chaudhari ever again to lead an organization like SBI. Top management must learn the art of appreciating junior employees. Also in tough times, junior management is taken to task while top management always remains shielded. Get away from bureaucratic setup.. Sooner the better !!!
