    Pros

Large Corporation thus a big advantage in your CV

    Cons

SSgA used to be a great place to work for but no more... these days management are incompetent, no people skills, it is all about themselves. Overall observation, It seemed bad behaviour are tolerated or ignored rather than addressed appropriately.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promotion to worthy people and not because they have been in the company for quite a long time.

I have been working at State Street Global Advisors full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

None that I can think of.

    Cons

IT systems are slow and ineffcient. People are usually overworked, with not enough resources. Hard work is not rewarded, nor is laziness discouraged. No proper selection process to become a manager, which leads to incompetent people managing teams poorly, which is frustrating for everyone and results in an incredibly disorganised environment. This is a highly politicized company, where sucking up to senior managers is more important than doing a good job. Fear of senior managers is a big issue in this company. Morale is very low all around. There are constantly restructurations / change in processes that do not improve anything, but that are conducted by managers so that they are seen as doing something.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure that you encourage everyone to give you proper feedback when you make a decision.
Establish a better reward system for hard work.
Stop restructuring as a mean to improve things, it never does. Instead concentrate on improving your employee's skills and knowledge.
