    I have been working at State of Florida full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Ive worked for the state for several years and i have enjoyed every bit of it. Not a place to get rich but still a good job

    Cons

    If you're looking for high salary than maybe not the place to be

    I worked at State of Florida (More than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits are good. For the most part, you know what to expect each day. Your employment feels more secure than if you are working in a private sector position.

    Cons

    Low pay. Limited mobility, as employees stay in upper management jobs for years.

    Advice to Management

    Utilize feedback from the employees in the trenches more.

    This job has good hours. It has good benefits and retirement. It teaches interpersonal skills and how to be independent.

    Too much gossiping. Its a good old boy system. Limited advancement for women

    I have been working at State of Florida full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    It is a very rewarding job but I need the help of all of the job websites I can to help persons with disabilities secure jobs. I personally am not looking for other work or another position.

    Cons

    Businesses not realizing that persons with disabilities have more abilities than they do the one or more disability they do have.

    Advice to Management

    Be advised that if you receive any federal money whatsoever then 7% of you employees must have a disability. This law went into effect in March 2015 and when they monitor your staff and you do not meet their requirements then you will be fined the first year. The second year you will lose you grant and have to pay all of the grant money back.

    Honestly, I can not think of any pros of working for the State of Florida,DCF

    Cons

    Little pay. Lots of stress. Lack of respect. DCF NE management needs to listen to employees and stick to the procedures that they have put in place.
