    Great Workplace

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Austin, TX

ProsGreat work/personal life balance. Management seems pretty responsive. I enjoy the work and those that I work with.

ConsAgency is new, having split from TxDOT in 2009, so there are growing and seperation pains for some of the "older" crowd.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think management is making the right choices and pushing the agency in a positive direction. Communication is often a complaint, but I don't think so.

Loved the job, the people, the flexibility, just tough with hiring freeze so no promotions or raises.

Vocational Counselor (Former Employee) Lewisville, TX

ProsFlexibility, slow paced, good co workers, teleworking available, flex-scheduling, good insurance, good time off, consistent, great area manager,

Conslots of paperwork, lots of office time, no raises due to legislature, due to it being "hard" to be "fired" your co workers are sometimes unmotivated or lazy and tough to work with (bitter state employees)

Advice to Senior ManagementMy manager was great, the only thing i would have changed was promotions/advancements and there was nothing she could do about this!

Excellent workplace environment, strong teamwork elements, satisfactory pay at nearly all levels

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Austin, TX

ProsCompensation and benefits packages were quite fair. The working environment was friendly and cooperative, and the interoffice communications systems run very efficiently.

ConsProfessional growth potential exists principally for workers with an interest in the field of state politics and policy, which may not be for everyone.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe infrequency of mandatory meetings among the Resolutions and Publications workforce empowers individual employees and encourages productivity. Keep it up!
