    Pros

Great work/personal life balance. Management seems pretty responsive. I enjoy the work and those that I work with.

    Cons

Agency is new, having split from TxDOT in 2009, so there are growing and seperation pains for some of the "older" crowd.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think management is making the right choices and pushing the agency in a positive direction. Communication is often a complaint, but I don't think so.

    Pros

Flexibility, slow paced, good co workers, teleworking available, flex-scheduling, good insurance, good time off, consistent, great area manager,

    Cons

lots of paperwork, lots of office time, no raises due to legislature, due to it being "hard" to be "fired" your co workers are sometimes unmotivated or lazy and tough to work with (bitter state employees)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My manager was great, the only thing i would have changed was promotions/advancements and there was nothing she could do about this!

    Pros

Compensation and benefits packages were quite fair. The working environment was friendly and cooperative, and the interoffice communications systems run very efficiently.

    Cons

Professional growth potential exists principally for workers with an interest in the field of state politics and policy, which may not be for everyone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The infrequency of mandatory meetings among the Resolutions and Publications workforce empowers individual employees and encourages productivity. Keep it up!
