    Pros

    Benefits and insurance is great.

    Cons

    Few pay raises unless there is money in the budget and or the legislature recommends a pay raise.

    Help promote merit raises.

    Pros

    Getting to work with kids, share ideas with others, in the beginning feel like you are making a difference

    Cons

    It is really all about the legislature and Pearson. SO much testing that is not educator backed.

    I have been working at State of Texas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Helping people. Free health insurance. Flexible schedule.

    Cons

    Not paid enough. The stress is not worth the pay

    Advice to Management

    Pay employees more and you won't have a high turn around.

    You sometimessage get to work on projects involving network technologies.

    Cons

    Often an unnatural amount of inter-departmental politics and challenging disfunctional organizational behaviors prevent the best ideas from being adopted.

    I worked at State of Texas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Coworkers were great and helped each other out. Very congenial workplace. Health benefits are decent.

    Cons

    Management was so far removed from doing the actual work the attorneys were asked to do that their expectations were unreasonable. Constant fear that jobs would be cut due to budget cut.

    Pros

    Benefits, flexible if time off is needed

    Cons

    No set course, procedures change from one day to the next, lack of communication.

    Communicate more

    The State Offers Benefits AND Offers A Retirement plan.

    Cons

    Most management is hired because of politics. Senator's nephew, Rep's cousin.

    Need to hire management who has skills for the job.
