    Pros

Small agencies, great office culture. Feeling of interconnectedness between other agencies makes it feel like less of a bureaucracy than other states. Management genuinely cares about employees

    Cons

Due to being a good place, some promotional opportunities are difficult to come by. Some difficulty in breaking in to culture.

    Recommends

    Pros

I like it here quite a bit. The people are very nice. I work in the IT department and there are many opportunities to take classes to get certifications.

    Cons

I would like it if the pay could be higher in State government in general.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really like the supervisors here.

    Pros

Competitive wages, flexible hours, laid-back atmosphere, easy-going clients, working with children, fun activities, relevant to college studies, interesting, engaging, challenging.

    Cons

changing and inconsistent hours, large amount of travel, clients can be difficult to work with, lack of training, no communication

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide a means to train employees on how to best perform the duties required of them, to increase job satisfaction and completion.

    Pros

    Outstanding colleagues
    Opportunities for growth
    Amazing information sharing
Everyday there is an opportunity to help others.
The work is interesting, challenging and varies from day-to-day.
    Non-judgmental atmosphere
    Very supportive environment
    Open to suggestions and ideas

    Cons

Sometimes clients are difficult. When that happens, that's when the real challenges happen!
There are plenty of rules and regulations overall, (as there should be given the nature of our business), but some seemingly basic protocols would ease some tensions. This is more an over-sight than management not wanting to offer them.

  10.

Great place to work but growth is limited as most positions are held by employees for years

    Pros

The PEOPLE!, hands down, I enjoyed the people I worked with but professionally there was not room for me to grow

    Cons

Slow to change or update policy but that may have more to do with lack of funds than anything else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm not sure who can fund raise but maybe turn some attention to that so that funds does not remain the issue holding all departments back

  11.

Former Employee - Data Center Operations Supervisor

    Pros

Great benefits, very little in the way of pressure, good hours

    Cons

Job gets boring and management is constantly changing, out of touch and has no interest in developing the skills of their workers even when pressed to do so. Its extremely political and advancement has everything to do with politics and nothing with performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need fewer, many fewer managers and give the people that want to improve the place a chance to do more.
