    Pros

Schedule can change so you can have different days off each week.

    Cons

Schedule can change so you can have different days off each week.
If someone calls in sick you have to work harder as it is difficult to call people in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give us our days off so we will not have to call in sick

    I worked at Stater Bros.

    Pros

Benefits, if you don't want decent wages.

    Cons

Union job that hasn't given decent wage increases in over a decade. The Union has been more concerned with benefits and has now made even a decent benefit package hard to afford because of the lack of wages. There are not set hours, work all holidays and weekends. Asking for days off are accepted as long as your manager is in a decent mood when he or she writes the schedule

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can't promote the same individuals from courtesy clerk to an eventual Vice President and expect change within the company. This company is more about who knows who and who golfs with who and that's the way to excel. If you want to be treated like a worthless piece of trash, this is the dumpster.

I have been working at Stater Bros.

    Pros

The best thing about workin here is that we have great benifits and we work for a union.

    Cons

Sucks that were open almost every holiday except Christmas ,
Managers don't care about employees much they care more about the customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Happy employees make happy customers

I worked at Stater Bros. full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Let's see. Work around your school schedule for those college kids. Raises, at least 25 hours a week, weekly pay, extra pay Sunday, time and a half holidays, off Christmas day with pay. Can request a day off and most likely have it off. Vacation pay, sick pay, one year pin if you like pins, talk on intercom, bail cardboard. Awesome down to earth coworkers! Caroline!!! Sheila!! Ariel!!!! Hector!! Veronica!!! Derek!!! Maria! Cena! Sofia!! It really depends on what store you are at because most stores could have more drama then others. Lastly, Learn new skills that will look good on future resume.

    Cons

Management. oh yes Stater Brothers finest. That is sarcasm. They talk down to their workers. I managed to dodge a lot of management when they are not in a good mood. Customers may be unpleasant. Weird odors almost everywhere. Sewage, Garlic, customers stinky body odor. ten minute breaks and no discount on food.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management always room for improvement. Communicate with employees better.

I have been working at Stater Bros. part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Topped out pay for a clerk is pretty good, paid vacations

    Cons

Some managers and coworkers aren't to bright or hardworking. Pay is based off of hours worked so it doesn't promote hard work. Union propaganda

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't play favorites, learn how to write a decent schedule, and be consistent.

I worked at Stater Bros. part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Had a wonderful service/deli manager. Benefits are good and they are really flexible when it comes to scheduling if you are in school. Good part-time place while in college.

    Cons

If you don't ask for time off two weeks in advance you most likely won't get the day(s) off. Some of the co-workers can and will get lazy so you have to pick up their slack. I noticed that management's competency varies from store to store (Fountain Valley was one of the better ones).

    I worked at Stater Bros.

    Pros

Benefits, Employees, Union, retirement. if you work real hard and kiss a lot of b**t you can usually move up. nice when you have a good rapport with customers that will only come to see you, they're the ones that really make the job!
don't really need to further your education you can stay there for the rest of your life, even make manager!

    Cons

total man's world. I always said its like you sell your soul when you go to work for stater brothers. you work your behind off for every thing that you make. but they feel like you would have nothing if it wasn't for them, you owe them. don't get me wrong I appreciate every year that I spent there and yes I was able to buy a couple of cars and a house.
