    Pros

Good salary and benefits. Work / life balance also good.

    Cons

Don't treat people as well as lofty "corporate values" would have you believe. If you are not an engineer or scientist type, you are really a second class citizen here.

    Advice to Management

Management in USA needs major assistance. Please send help Norway!

    Pros

Business complex is good; benefits are good

    Cons

Favoritism of the Norwegians is definitely obvious

    Advice to Management

Consider development of career paths for ALL employees; not just ones you have identified. Strongly suggest some cultural diversity awareness training. Management has not realized that many times translations are lost between languages. Consider having only English spoken in the office. All employees should have equal rights & access to upper management, HR, etc. Too much executive intimidation.

    Pros

Company is a NOC, so they have access to funding. Yes, work life balance, but this is not a competency as by time you will lose your competencies.

    Cons

Slow, very process oriented, only Norwegian can go up the ladder, decisions are taken behind closed doors, very command and control company despite they show off collaboration. Not the top pay in industry. Very slow learning curve, no development plan whatsoever, expect you to follow the orders.

    Advice to Management

No surprice that Statoil is the worst performer among the peer group in 2011-2013. Open your eyes and come to your senses. This company need a complete revisit to its strategic view.

    Pros

Flexibility, schedule, challenges, colleagues, benefits (U.S. employee). All around better than all of my previous employers both inside and outside of the oil & gas industry.

    Cons

    Less structured than most companies.

The Norwegians from Norway were some of the best people to work with. They are fair and trustworthy.

    Cons

The company is now becoming "Americanized".
    Unfair treatment
    Management is incompetent
    prejudice

    Pros

Great camp, shifts and travel arrangement.
Management is really understanding, great HR department

    Cons

Not that much room for new employment if you are just starting a career. Road to the plant can get a bit sloppy when heavy rain.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, maybe a little bit more honesty on whether or not there are opening available at the end of work terms.

    Pros

    - Supporting colleagues and environment, far away from the rat race culture of other firms
    - Good career opportunities if you are based in Norway, although this is currently not nearly as good as in the early 2010s.
    - Pay is good, below what other oil companies pay, but job security is much higher

    Cons

    - Company is in a challenging state with the decline in oil price and the high cost structure
    - Skills development is slower than at smaller companies, so you have to be proactive requesting change.

    Advice to Management

    - Promote people based in merits & potential, not based on age
