Glassdoor says describe my experience at SFASU in one sentence: LAME...is the word I would use.

Technical Support Specialist II (Former Employee) Nacogdoches, TX

ProsIf you like alot of days off/holidays as opposed to corporate employment, then you'll like that feature.

ConsSFASU closes for Christmas and makes it mandatory for employess to use some of their own time to cover the absence, since the State of Texas only allows a certain number of free holidays. SFASU schedules holidays in excess of this, and makes the employees utilize their accumulated leave time to cover the excess days off. So basically you get told when and where to use your leave. Is that really leave time????

Advice to Senior ManagementThere really is some credence to the saying "promoted to the level of incompetence" I learned what that meant while working at SFASU. There also should be some oversight in the hiring process other than the human resources compensation and classification unit prior to the Board of Regents signing off on the positions. There are positions at SFASU that are full-time paid positions that maybe have 20 hours worth of work to do each week, maybe even less than that, and yes, all those positions are reviewed by HR before they are created. There is incredible waste going on there and not just with salaries.
