Family Atmosphere but Poor Management and Training

Sales Coordinator (Former Employee) Long Island City, NY

ProsIt feels as though you are living in a family. This includes the casual atmosphere, the many friendships, and fun office activities. They also have fairly decent benefits.

ConsThe management seems to be very disorganized and somewhat old fashioned. Training is barely there. The office is too small for how many people are there.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease offer a decent training program for all positions. Also, the possibility of newer computer programs for order entry and even (on a separate note) expense report processing could make certain things run smoothly.

    ARea manager

Area Manager (Former Employee) Melbourne (Australia)

ProsAccess to current trends and or fashions. Ability to be a sound team leader. Encourage youth to be more interactive with there workplace's. NIce stores and staff outside of head office are absolutly wonderful.

Consstrict working hours which leave very little time for a personal and or socail life. Disresept from senior employees at head office, Sometime fauly stock

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the store staff happier and they will work harder to acheive goals. Be wary of people that are after a feeling of power( never works in a team job) :)

    Good place

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Miami, FL

ProsFun and great working environment. You really get into the commission based atmosphere. The discounts are great and worthwhile. Overall recommended.

ConsScheduling is an issue and really depends on sales goals and how many employees are currently working there at the moment.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore flexibility for scheduling and planned vacations. No last minute schedule fixes. Overall great place and atmosphere but management needs to seek work and life balance for all

    Steve Madden

Assistant Manager (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsEasy commission sales job. Your title as a manager did not define your actual job. You were excepted to be able to dable in a little of everything. Very young company with great access to corporate depending on our home store location.

ConsWork life balance was not carefully thought of. Little done to commend achievements and distribute work evenly. Nepotism at it's best.

Advice to Senior ManagementAlthough the non-defined job descriptions do help to learn a little bit of everything, placing more structure in the role of each level of manager would ensure that work is getting distributed fairly.
