    Pros

Almost every Friday you got to wear jeans--if that does it for you
    Free food around the holidays
    Small HQ--you will know everybody

    Cons

No advancement unless you are related to someone--There are so many brother/sister, mother/son, aunt/cousin relationships here it is hard to get on a good career path unless you know someone. The pay is WAY under the industry average. If you are a man, you will get promoted, just flirt your way up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your good people, they are all leaving for more pay and more opportunities. I saw so many great employees leave for better careers because some broker's slacker kid got a $50,000/year job handed to them right out of college, while a great employee with experience and a degree was passed over.

I worked at Stifel Financial full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Don't know them anymore. Not the same company they used to be since they started acquiring all these companies and started changing.

    Cons

worked there over 10 years. Was laid off - and told its not my performance. Then lay off people who have a poor performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to keep the people that got you there and stop buying so many companies which then forces you to let people gol

I have been working at Stifel Financial

    Pros

Colleagues are very helpful and willing to share what they have knowledge -- great place to learn.

Warm work atmosphere where all employees say hi and celebrate the good days and bad with each other.

Management is very understanding and flexible with your daily needs.

    Cons

Low pay in comparison to other banks, but perks outweigh the con.

Little amounts of raises, if any, per year. 1-2%.

Advancement does not happen quickly. Stick it out for success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the lower end people who want to be challenged and take on larger projects, those who are capable of excellence to keep them around.

I have been working at Stifel Financial full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Growth continues at high pace, middle market gives some advantages to the firms, business structure seems solid, good front-office people

    Cons

Certain back-office areas need an overhaul. Some departments/people seem uninterested in growing with the company. I see how hard the good employees work in the back-office, helping the rest of us, but management could be more helpful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep an eye on back-office. Show good employees that there is a career path, keep an eye on back-office as some areas and people seem unstable and need to look for better replacements.

    Pros

People are very nice and helpful. I'm learning new things which will help me in the long run.

    Cons

There has been change in management and things still aren't set in place. Because of that the morale isn't the greatest. I'm sure in time it will get better.
