I have been working at Stonebridge full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

This is a new/old company. The company has been around since 1995, and has called on a number of industries to deliver its services offerings. This said, today the company is clearly focused 100% in the Energy sector and has very clear and has distinct service offerings for this industry. More so than it has had over the last 20 years. Yes there has been change, and while some people have viewed the change as negative, the reality was that change was needed. The company had record revenue in 2014 and saw 40% growth. Albert Einstein said, "Insanity - Doing the same thing over and expecting different results." The company is not doing the same thing over, they are doing something different.

I think the company is doing a lot of good things to streamline back office processes and make things easier for associates. HR has really done a good job with on boarding new hires, and company communications (both internal and external) are a lot better. College new hires are happening too.

    Cons

The company has five office locations and has seen a lot of grown and hiring in 2014. It can be tough to keep track of all the new faces, and the company needs to continue to strive to keep the offices connected and up to date. The company culture is evolving and getting better, and will continue to improve.

    Pros

Pay is good, benefits are ok, HRA reimbursement plan is great, lots of talented people in all parts of the organization.
Independent Training program is great, still has the small company feel.

    Cons

Communications to employees are lacking in several areas, from project level to corporate level.
Possible over emphasis on Oil & Gas sector, I prefer a more balanced customer base.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put some better policies and practices in place around communications that are vital to employees.

    Pros

Interesting projects and co workers. work life balance is good. emphasis on being a good consultant

    Cons

Health care plan has been downgraded significantly. high sales and management turnover in the past 2 years as well as many long term employees suddenly departing. Questionable strategy moving forward

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

attempt to keep good senior management and do not let finance run the show. This used to be a great company and is now running on it's reputation. The future of the company is questionable without a clear marketing strategy and execute on it.

I worked at Stonebridge full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is good, SharePoint and BI project opportunities are plentiful. Health reimbursement account is nice.

    Cons

Reorganization of the company earlier this year led to several changes that did not set well with consultants. The custom development practice was dissolved, delivery management was done away with, and many new hires were made based on personal ties rather than merit once a new senior management position was filled last year. Bonuses are a joke, the 401k match is horrible, and upper management has shown its incompetence many times over the past few months once a new president was named. Many senior consultants, some with near 20 years' experience, have resigned or been pushed out due to questioning the new management's policies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a new president of consulting that is able to run the company, before it's too late. Take the time to listen to employees, other than during exit interviews. Provide more attractive benefits. Be honest about how things are going. Be reasonable with goals. Consultants are not stupid, and can see through management's attempts at cover ups.

    Pros

Great co-workers, friendly environment and the company is small enough to know everyone by name. Very fast paced work environment with many opportunities to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities.

    Cons

There is an overall lack of communication and departmental cohesiveness. Many redundant and outdated internal processes need improvement. Workload can be very heavy at times due to lack of resources.
