    Pros

I loved working at Strategic Insight. It's a great blend of technology and mutual fund industry for those that want to speak both languages (finance and tech). Phil and Avi are both great individuals, and the rest of the senior management staff are really laid back and cool people. Compensation is tough to comment on - who do you compare to? I think they are fair for entry level - new graduates from undergrad. Upper management/senior level - tough to say. I certainly enjoyed working there for 2 years and learned alot.

    Cons

The company is growing quickly however it still has that loose management type of feel. That is great for those who are entrepreneurial, but the lack of structure can be bad for those who are used to defined roles. For those ambitious types, there are plenty of opportunities to wear multiple hats and help out in other areas of the business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My only advice to management would be to perhaps hire more professionals from the industry or bigger companies to help the company become more institutionalized and ready for life as a big company. I like the entrepreneurial feel but getting some more structure wouldn't hurt .

I worked at Strategic Insight (New York)

    Pros

Flexible with time off and loose dress code. No "silos" within company - easy to reach out across departments and lots of discretion in what each employee is allowed to work on.

    Cons

No clear chain of command, no accountability, and low pay. Incompetence is not penalized and good work is not rewarded.
