    Pros

Straumann tries to be fair. They try to do the right things. In the corporate world, the rules are different than in other environments. Things have to happen to keep the doors open and most people employed. Decisions have to be made for the greater good. I feel that Straumann wants to be a strong player in their field for many years to come. They have great benefits. I Love the people I work with. They are very nice. In this company, if you work hard, take responsibility for your job and your actions, you will be seen and heard.

    Cons

Pay is under the average for some non-management jobs. But, right now, most companies are under what they should be paying because we still have a lot of folks looking for employment.

    Advice to Management

Beef up your customer service dept. Customers are angry that they need to wait so long to place an order. Train your customer service managers in up to date management processes.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Opportunity to move up. You can learn a lot from this Medical Device company

    Cons

Favortism is rampant. Management doesn't know much that I had to do their own job. Office politics is the game to play in all departments.

    Advice to Management

    Eliminate favoritism.

    Pros

Great pay & benefits, people are nice. Good opportunities for advancement and diverse career paths can be plentiful. Overtime is often available.

    Cons

Corrupt politics run rampant in this company with management not caring or working toward eliminating it. Favoritism is out of control.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate corrupt politics. Notice favoritism and work to reverse it. Before implementing changes in a department, work with employees in that department to see if the changes being implemented are realistic or even doable.

    Pros

If you love people this is a great fit but you will have to work hard to obtain your own knowledge on the product by yourself. The benefits are great and the pay is decent. Straumann makes a great product.

    Cons

The products are great but the training of the staff is rushed, disorganized and surface level that it is hard as an employee to assist the customers with all their questions about the product. Their reference material is very scientific and lengthy that it is of no use to the customer service representative who has to read 30 pages to find the data. The supervisors work against each other and one gossips about the other, creates conflict, disrespects her staff and has no tact. Products are constantly on back order and shipping is soooo understaffed that orders are wrong, things don't go out on time, customers are upset and customer service is stuck holding the bag! Favoritism is a game that is played here as well.

    Advice to Management

The company fails to realize people are the asset and money is a tool and not the other way around! Your staff matters, their happiness matters because it affects their job performance which it turn affects your bottom line!

    Pros

The company has a very strong reputation for delivery quality products and supporting its customers at a local level. The focus on product research and customer education reinforces the relationships we build with surgeons and their referrals. The relationship with SPEAR Education, which promotes the team approach to implant dentistry, serves to further strengthen the strong bond with customers.

    Cons

Challenge the Status Quo to help make things better

    Advice to Management

Finding the balance to serve the "Specialist" while catering to the growing desire by the "General Dentist" to place implants will be a challenge. Craft a clear communication strategy for the marketplace coupled with a Dual Brand strategy (Premium vs Value Priced) and support the current customer base. Straumann is in a good position to benefit from the rapidly growing segment.

    Pros

I liked my coworkers and they had an a very good training program

    Cons

Managers in customer service were unhelpful at best and singled out certain employee's and engage in harassment. Also when you wanted to learn more about the products so that your could better service the customers they felt threatened by it. It's a very caddy situation and if they don't like you they will set you up to fail on purpose by not giving adequate training and other childish methods to push you out. Also they have hidden agenda's when hiring certain employee's so beware if you come from another implant company to here.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and stop the childish vendetta's against other implant companies and move on with it already....... Also when approached for a one on one don't lie about the quality testing that the company does with customer service as it is usual and customary within the industry ........... and if someone leaves the company because it isn't the right fit.... Don't take it personally ........

    Pros

Straumann offers a good compensation and benefit package, including an on-site gym and cafeteria

    Cons

The office culture is very European. Individual contribution is encouraged as long as it conforms to the ideals already in place by the Lead Team or HQ.

    Pros

Straumann is the # 1 Dental Implant company in the world. If you want to work for a leader, then Straumann is for you.

    Cons

Straumann is no different than other companies. Mistakes are made and fixed. Nothing is perfect, but management tries to keep the majority satisfied.

    Advice to Management

Nothing needs to be said on line. They have an open door policy and I provide my feedback regularly.

    Pros

They have good benefits and a bonus

    Cons

European management style, management says one thing, does another. Waaay overboard on being PC. If someone complains about an employee, they are charged, tried, convicted and THEN told at the "sentencing" that there is a problem. No actual investigation to see if the complaint was even valid or accurate.

    Advice to Management

Do what you say. You tout "spend it like it's your own" but then management throws money away on frivolous stuff like it's water. Performance raises might be 1% - 2% but then they'll spend $7,000 on a cooking class as a "team building" activity for some departments. They have a "Simply Doing More" award but for the past 5 years, NO ONE in manufacturing has ever gotten one, it's only for the prima donnas in sales and marketing.
