Relaxing, unhelpful, conniving, and then disturbing

    TSA II (Former Employee)

    ProsYou get paid.
You are pretty much on your own.
You have help on your computers and Team Managers.
You have access to product for technical use.
    The client's info is secure.
    You can get day's off.
Casual dress code with no t-shirts or shorts.
    Bonuses.
Plenty of work to keep you busy!

    ConsYou get paid very little.
You are pretty much on your own most of the time except when they listen to a call and nail you for petty stuff.
You have help on your computers and Team Managers but it is not all that great and TM's tell you to handle it.
You have access to product for technical use but it really doesn't help a newbie.
The client's info is secure meaning you leave pens, paper phones, everything except your clothing and shoes in a locker that you have access only three times throughout the day.
You can get days off, rarely a holiday, depending on the stupid point system and family emergencies are not for this place.
Casual dress code with no t-shirts or shorts but a lot of hoochie mamas and hairy chests out an about with bling and nasty perfume and cologne stifling the air.
Bonuses are dependent on all 500+ employees (3-5 different outfits) making 90+% quotas and customer surveys throughout the whole location.
Plenty of work to keep you busy or make you quit! Turnover/attrition rate is high at all sites!

Advice to Senior ManagementShow you care and show you have a pair to the management! Need a CEO that cares about employess, clients, and atmosphere not about the money or the quotas!
Bring back individual bonuses and use the training money for the employess. The training is good only on using the computers and should only last 2 weeks. Use the training money to keep the awesome Tech reps!!!
What was disturbing was an employee's mother had passed away and he used up his points and days off (he also had a medical condition) AND was denied a day off. He took it off, was put on suspension, and he just left the company a week later anyway! Heartless, get rid of that stupid points system!
Leave a pen and 5 pieces of paper on the desk for employees. Let the Team manager take the papers written on and dispose of properly. If papers are missing torn pieces then bring attention to the rep.
I did like no phones inside the work areas!

Fun environment, but not a career.

    Team Manager (Former Employee)
    Tampa, FL

Pros- Upper Management are very personable and a blast to work for.
    - Environment is fun during both production and down time.
    - Agent advancement opportunity in abundance.

Cons- Advancement opportunity is limited once at the management level.
    - Pay is very low and annual raise is less than .03% for highest performer based on corporate mandates.
    - Schedules are far from ideal, with both nights and weekends on the table.

Advice to Senior ManagementNone, management is great and any shortcomings are due to corporate mandates.

Call centers are not for me

    Retention Call Center (Former Employee)
    Rio Rancho, NM

ProsThe training class was fun, met some cool people, break room was nice, everything was cool but the actual job.

ConsJob sucks, angry customers and outdated/unorganized systems. Unprofessional work environment. Favoritism, kids are promoted to supervisors just because the company is desperate. Agents tend to tell customers that a problem is fixed but it is left for the next agent to deal with. Customers are often endlessly transferred from agent to agent and remain on hold for very long making them angrier and angrier. Everyone smokes and hates their jobs. The morale was terrible.

Advice to Senior ManagementUpgrade systems and make them easier to use. Treat people fairly. Make everything more streamlimed.

    SAVES Sirius XM

Saves Agent SIRIUS XM (Former Employee)

ProsGood commission if you actually got it

ConsStream conducts their own quality control on commissions. SiriusXM would see you making commission but Stream would step in every month and fail 30% on the floor. Roughly $30k/monthly in commission would not be paid out to the floor. Also they would delay commissions and fire people so they owuldnt have to pay them as well. CROOKED in my opinion.

Advice to Senior ManagementRestart from scratch. Quit screwing people out of their hard earned commissions because someone in the Philippines doesn't understand the complexities of Americanized English. But that means you couldn't keep what you do, so you probably won't change!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    Pros-you get a steady schedule
-as long as you can calm custs down youll be good
-even 60 something yo people are working here, so its easy to get a job here as long as you know about a little about technology

Cons-it wasn't for due to the amount of ignorant customers
-i feel like ojt and training should be more complete
