    Pros

Very friendly team. They place a high value on safety and this translates to the entire company culture. The field team takes it just as seriously and appreciates the concern placed on their work experience and well being. Combination of young and older co-workers that like to have fun while producing high quality work.

    Cons

Some responsibilities and roles were not as clarified as they could have been during the interview. Would have preferred the internship had a better balance of days in the office and in field. However, every new hire goes through the same process.

    Pros

Good pay and relocation stipend. Hands on experience. High regard for safety. From the bottom to the top of the company, I would be surprised if another company took safety more serious than STRUCTURAL.

    Cons

All new employees have to work manual labor for ~3months before doing anything else. They took me to lunch on my first day and I had a meeting with a group of Project Engineers one time. Besides those two times I rarely ever met with anyone above the Project Foreman to speak about anything substantive. Absolutely no mentor program. Job sites changed weekly - one week in D.C., the next in Northern Maryland.

    Advice to Management

Have some type of mentoring program. Invite intern to an important meeting or two.

    Pros

Good field operation and safety culture

    Cons

No direction with regard to where the company is going. Do they want to be a GC or focus on what they know repair work. Company expanded very fast in many directions, they need to refocus on business units that are profitable

    Pros

    Great pay for an Intern
Tons of different jobs throughout NY Metro Area
Used lots of new cutting edge technologies

    Cons

Lack of relationship/communication between the Managers and foreman (ones I worked with atleast)
Sometimes got into jobs without knowing full scope of work

    Advice to Management

Stick to what you know which is the concrete industry because you do great work. It seemed like the company was going in a GC direction and if thats where they want to be then they need to work on that.

    Pros

-Incredibly high potential for the company to do something great
-Incredible opportunities for learning from an industry leader
    -Uncompetitive, and team-based work environment
    -Good camaraderie

    Cons

-Potential for the company to do something great is capped severely by the abilities of people in "leadership" positions
-People are frequently promoted to the point of total ineffectiveness, which can damage the overall work environment
    -"Homegrown" talent is severely underpaid
    -Bloated corporate structure

  9. Very dissorganized, mismanagement, back stabbing workers, and overpaid workers that don't know half of what I know

    Pros

Very good people from top to bottom, not very much office politics. Plenty of room to advance if you're in OPS side of business. Safety culture. Try to keep things interesting. Leadership is not one tracked mind.

    Cons

Some inter-branch rivalry gets in way of teamwork

    Advice to Management

take walls down between branches. Stress that we all work for one goal and show it,
