Pros – Nice salary and benefits. Interesting client base. Some interesting products that can make a real difference in the lives of patients.
Cons – The sales force drives everything. The marketing role is essentially sales support. Senior management is not built on talent but on longevity within the Stryker organization. The manufacturing is located in France which adds a great deal of complexity when it comes to getting things done on time.
Advice to Senior Management – Bring in some outsiders to break the politics as usual game. Allow marketing to do more than abide by all of the requests coming out of the sales force. Develop a manufacturing facility that is located in the U.S.

Pros – Decent benifits, gives a good overall picture of industry as a whole.
Cons – Very little flexibility inthe work. More of a hierachical system instead of promotions based on merit. Politics rule as they do in many corporations, much of a person's success in this depend on how willing your manager is to let you try new things and how much they support your growth. Stryker is not a bad place to start a career, but long term prospects are very limited.
Advice to Senior Management – Let your people try new things and grow. Don't put people in a nox and limit their potential.
