Great company to work for

Design Engineer (Current Employee)
Kalamazoo, MI

I have been working at Stryker full-time for more than a year

Pros-They care about employees. Lots of movement within the company. They give lots of responsibilities to their employees and there is lots of opportunities to advance.

Cons-Very political company. Sometimes profits seem to be put before quality.
-Not a lot of experience in the company. Shows sometimes in the products and decisions we make.

Advice to Senior ManagementWe need to focus more on sending quality products out the door instead of the numbers. It's very disheartening to see some of the decisions made by upper management against our suggestions.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Big company which is run like many mom and pop shops

Project Manager (Current Employee)
Mahwah, NJ

I have been working at Stryker full-time for more than 8 years

ProsStable company with increases and bonus every year. Opportunities to create your own role. Great benefits and competitive starting salaries.

ConsExtremely conservative and risk averse company. People are extremely resistant to change or standardization with every user thinking their unique way is the only possible method.

Advice to Senior ManagementMassive changes required in management tiers. Force divisions to standardize without opening up exceptions so that standards look like swiss cheese.

I have been working at Stryker

ProsI have worked for Stryker for 10 years. During my career at SYK, my Managers and colleagues have taken a sincere interest in my growth and development. They have supported my non-traditional career path and have encouraged me to stay true to my area of expertise.

ConsNot really a con, but due to company growth and acquisition at times the workload can be intense. They do a great job hiring people that can handle the culture and the pace.

Advice to Senior ManagementStay connected to the employees.

Great culture, talented people, and exciting products!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Kalamazoo, MI

I have been working at Stryker full-time for more than a year

ProsThe energy and positivity here is second to none. Talented and driven individuals all around and making things happen. It doesn't seem to matter what division or department you are in, the focus and high-achievement ethic is prevalent.

ConsCould be a bad fit for low energy, pessimistic individuals. Those looking for a simple 40 hour work week, every week will not be happy here.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep going strong!
