I worked at Stryker as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

As an intern at Stryker Sustainability solutions, they give you independence with your projects and full access to learn anything you want. You're surrounded by amazing, driven people who are always willing to help. There's a reason why they put you through Gallup. Great management, and though the internship program is fairly new, it is well organized. They gave us free Stryker t-shirts, water bottles, socks etc. and brought us on fully paid-for outings like a kickball tournament with our managers and Universal Studios. HR is very helpful.

    Cons

Facilities here are sub-par, especially for a Fortune 500 company like Stryker. I've heard their other divisions are more technologically advanced and organized, however.

Working for Stryker was a complete pleasure great company and great people to work with . I have always enjoyed working on a winning team.

    Cons

I have no real cons with my experience working for Stryker . They have a great team that works together well with one goal in mind . That is to produce the best medical products and they do.

I have been working at Stryker

    Pros

The people are good. They screen everyone according to a personality profile so you all share certain personality traits. If you don't pass the Gallup interview, you won't get hired even with perfect qualifications.

Otherwise it is your typical large organization with its share of dysfunction, high points and shortcomings.

    Cons

They like to make a big deal about how you can move into other positions in the company unrelated to your current job, but that really depends on what the hiring manager for that position wants. They will slash your job in the name of restructuring and not offer to move you into a new one just like any other company under the sun.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Every department has tunnel vision in many divisions. Cross-functional leaders would go a long way to improving organizational interaction.

I have been working at Stryker

    Pros

    friendly culture
    good remuneration for new hires
    learning opportunities

    Cons

extremely sales focussed organization, non strategic
very political - your growth depends on who you know and who you are friends with
not very receptive for outside talent
not much value placed on education or experience. you can see people with random degrees and sports backgrounds chosen for roles that need more skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get more strategic
After you hire, make efforts to not alienate those didnt grew up in Stryker
    value external talent and diversity
Put in practices where employees feel open to give manager feedback.
