    Pros

Fast-paced with the right amount of down time, half-priced food and free movies, great seasonal work, fun interactions with customers

    Cons

Long shifts, physically demanding, younger coworkers are often irresponsible and immature, occasional stresses of all customer service and restaurant hobs

I have been working at Studio Movie Grill

    Pros

You get free movies, even off the clock. You can invite up to three guests whenever you watch a movie, and only you, yourself can get 50% off food.

    Cons

Nights were long. As a former high school student, I used to hate getting off at midnight with school coming up the next day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire some better-mannered employees.

I worked at Studio Movie Grill part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

It was a great first job and I learned a lot. My favorite part was getting to know the staff. We were all really close.

    Cons

Sometimes the hours were not to well. I had to work many graveyard shifts and my sleep schedule was messed up even three months after I left for college.

I have been working at Studio Movie Grill part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Very solid pay, especially around holiday season
Work is not very hard to complete
Work in a team based environment
Get access to watch free movies every day

    Cons

The money you make can depend on people other than yourselves, ie your team
    Very fast paced environment
    Very stressful on busy nights
If the night is slow, the money will not be good

  7.

    Decent work but management problems

I worked at Studio Movie Grill part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

After tips you make a decent amount as long as good movies are coming out
    Staff is friendly and accepting
Free movies and half off food

    Cons

Corporate is constantly making changes, and the servers are the ones who have to let guests hear the bad news about new policies or menu changes.
Management can make scheduling a nightmare; too many people will work on some nights so no one makes money
There are many mistakes/issues due to ordering structure, which make work more stressful than it should be at times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the ideas from servers, they know what is working and what isn't. Stand up to bad corporate ideas

I worked at Studio Movie Grill full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Moved from runner to server very quickly. The tips are great on weekends. There are so many employees that it is usually pretty easy to get your shift covered if need be. The free movie tickets and 50% off food was a huge plus.

    Cons

They hardly ever hire you directly as a server. You have to start as a runner and move up. The shifts can be extremely long (sometimes 10 am- midnight on weekends).

I have been working at Studio Movie Grill part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Decent tips, no overly-long hours, friendly staff and half price food and free movie tickets Monday-Thursday. Availability and request offs are honored (mostly) but don't go overboard. Good for young people in high school and college.

    Cons

Management really doesn't care much about your issues. Guests can be rude. Can be stressful if you aren't a good multi-tasker. Lack of an official break. If you need to eat you need to do it in a corner somewhere and fast before another theater seats. As some other reviews say, you have to pick up the slack for some lazy employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to your employees!

I worked at Studio Movie Grill

    Pros

You get a lot of hours

    Cons

    No breaks
    13 hour shifts
    Managers are so rude
    No standard for hiring
Pick up the slack of bad workers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The runners hide in the theaters and they make the servers do everything while doing their actual job. The managers cuss at us and yell all the time.

    Pros

Fun, fast-paced work environment and movies are free. I loved working here. The people I worked with were awesome and management was flexible with scheduling.

    Cons

Can get stressful at times during big movie releases. Sometimes management played favorites. The hours there can be very long.
