I have been working at Subway (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent growth potential, anyone who cares about their job and their customers will find leadership roles available to them. Great place to learn and get valuable experience. Fast paced, I enjoy the early days (usually home by 3)

    Cons

Finding employees who care is hard and takes time. Staffing can be stressful.

    Pros

It was a great entry-level job to gain experience. The actual job was easy, there's nothing really difficult about making subs, baking bread, or cutting vegetables.

    Cons

Store managers, at least for my location, came and went withing months. They promoted people who obviously shouldn't have been promoted. Also, when I had a complaint about one store manager for drug abuse on the clock I took it to corporate and they dismissed my complaint without looking in to it.

    Advice to Management

It would have been nice to work with managers who knew what they were doing. When I worked there for a little over two years I saw over 7 managers, that kind of turn around is ridiculous.

    I worked at Subway part-time

    Pros

The staff I worked with are friendly and amiable. The work is easy and time tends to fly by, especially when it's busy. I was supervisor, so I was opening and closing the store.

    Cons

Pay isn't all that great, but is expected for a job like this. If the store is quiet, you'll most likely be working by yourself, which can be sometimes up to 5 hours without any other staff. We throw out so much food, including 50+ loaves of perfectly edible bread each day, which can be of better use.

  6. Subway itself is a good place to work but their upper management is absolutely horrible to their store managers.

I worked at Subway full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Manager pay is fairly good for someone in their 20's with good opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

Retched upper management causes store managers and sandwich artists to feel they have no reason to do such a good job. They make their bonuses because of OUR hard work and they still treat us like crap.

    Advice to Management

Store managers work very hard at their jobs, get told you're doing great, hit all their target numbers, and then have one bad day and be written up and told their work is sub-par.
