I worked at Subway (More than 3 years)

    Pros

the experience gained by this job has prepared me for the real world in a way that no other job could. the team becomes a tight family that even though i no longer work there still keep in touch with me.

    Cons

sometimes the customers are not educated on product or pricing and this creates unnecessary frustration from both sides.

    Advice to Management

keep up the good work and be sure to clearly stat prices and when temporary products are no longer available

I worked at Subway part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked at Subway in Lafayette, LA and as a first job, I'd say it was good. My boss was very laid back, and the job taught me how to multitask efficiently.

    Cons

While my boss' passive attitude was a plus, it was also the biggest downfall. Poor management left me working shifts by myself often and as an afternoon/nighttime worker, that also meant I closed the place alone; Meaning I had to keep the lobby clean, clean the bathrooms, mop the lobby, and deal with customers by myself all at once.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people per shift. One person should not be responsible for so many tasks and still be expected to provide quality customer service.

    Pros

Having a boss that can relate to the hardships of the job and recognizes hard work.

    Cons

The constant training definitely takes its toll lol. ;) Being in fast food most of employees it's their first job so molding a hard headed teen can be challenging. Just do t forget how it was to have your first job :)

    Advice to Management

Be fast, accurate, honest, fair and on point to set an example for the crew. And don't forget to remember how YOUR first job was. ;)

I have been working at Subway full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, Easy to understand, Not a lot of lifting,

    Cons

Being short staffed, hour cut due to labor, Time restraints, Minimum to no security,

    Advice to Management

Listen to your crew members. A lot of good ideas get pushed aside by District Managers, and not much communication between DM's and the employees. They don't seem to listen or care about big issues, such as security systems or lighting in dark alleys.

I worked at Subway part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Certainly depends on location, but subway stores are often small enough that you will know most other employees you work with. Excellent environment to develop a culture of camaraderie.

    Cons

Often employees will be asked to leave early or not come in for work for the sake of cost control. Customers are often disrespectful which can be difficult given lower staffing.
